Fantastic craftsmanship with your parts Devin. While I'm not a fan of BMW motorcycles (the size of tank looks incongruent with the frame), I'm a fan of your work. Keep up the great builds.

I always thought my r100rs weight distribution was off due to the shaft drive. Watching this reminded me of those concerns.

So, what is the max width tire you can use on all stock components (other than the disc conversion parts)so you don't have to deal with spacer and shaft issues?

130 is really the max. 130 gets you right up on that swingarm. Anything wider you have to pull the final drive to replace tires.

I wish you would have had a photo at the end showing how the spacing between tire and swingarm changed, the same way you showed it from up above in begin of the video you showed how the tire nearly rubbed. Maybe a side by side shot before and after? I might be missing something concerning the spacer for the drive gear, but if it was just a spacer between hub and gear that was not normally there stock, and the bolts just needed to protrude thru spacer into the wheel hub to attach like the gear did stock, then why were some of the holes in the spacer threaded? Wouldn't that make issues with the threads from the spacer and threads behind it in the wheel hub causing the spacer to not sit flat against the hub and instead have a gap anywhere from zero up to nearly a full thread depending on where the threads matched up between the spacer and hub behind it? Great machine work BTW, I love the logo you added to the head of the axel. I like the CAD work you showed and the NC programing in SolidWorks I believe it was? I would be interested in a video just on the design and NC program in real time. I am just completing my Associates degree in CAD, I specialized in CATIA 3D Experience, my last class is NC programing. There is a SolidWorks class which I may take before I get out of here and put these new degrees to work for me. CAD design will make my 4th associates degree to go along with one in Mechatronics (robotic manufacturing), one in Precision Machining & CNC programming, and another in Composites design and Manufacturing (which covers from part design, to building molds and producing parts made from fiberglass, carbon fiber, and Kevlar. To testing parts for integrity, determining if any flaws and performing repairs). It is too bad I am all the way on the other side of the country, I would love to work at a place like Cognito Moto. I got your email about the open position that brought me here and led me down a rabbit hole of bike build video. It was a great way to spend a couple hours, but its 1:43am and I got class in 6hrs, so it is time for bed. Keep up the good work I look forward to more videos and buying some parts too. I got a couple GL1000s & GL1100s for cafe racer conversions, so we will need some new triple tree stems for fork swaps. I think the GL500 stem should work? If so put me down for 5.

So the spacer was drilled M6 clearance hole. I then tapped two of the wholes with an M8 tap so it could be used as a jack screw just in case the spacer was ever stuck. So M6 screw passes straight through the M8 hole. That is solid works

Hi I just ordered this wide wheel conversation kit and I am trying to get some info about the modification that has to be made at the swing arm. Do you have any instructions for that?
