BMW R 18 sound [RAW Onboard]

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Imagine you'd have told me 2 years ago that BMW is developing a giant cruiser. "So what?" would've been my reply. But nowadays things are different. I ADORE these bikes. And so this R 18 probably was one of the most exciting rides for me this year. And what a brilliant ride she is!! ENJOY!

It was launched here in Malaysia recently and the thing that catches my eye was how the boxer looks asymmetrical while sitting on it. I understand it was due to the engine ergonomic but man I'm still disturb by it 🤣btw great video as always! I believed based on the engine sound you're on the Rock mode?

So many people complaining about the "lack of lean angle." I suspect that they have not ridden a BMW motorcycle with a boxer twin engine. That design lowers the center of gravity to a point below and close behind the front axle . Those cylinders act like outriggers, or the balancing pole of a tightrope walker. The rider does not need ss much lean angle as a vertical, inline V-twin, or parallel twin, or inline four across. If the rider wants to get a little more aggressive, they can use more of their body like a sport rider would do anyway. The fact is, the boxer twins are very nimbile in the turns, and from a very comfortable position that can ride until the tank is empty. The R-18 diverges from the neutral riding position of most boxers of the last 65 years, but the same characteristics of the boxer exist while the rider is lower and the wheelbase is stretched. Some minor adjustments could be made to minimize or eliminate the scraping of the pegs. But that scraping did not throw him off his line, or hinder his approach and attack of the corners. He rode a reasonably aggressive style for the conditions of road and traffic. He "won that race," and he was in control of his ride. It's not a GSXR, and why should it be? Insanity, would be buying a cruiser and then griping that it does not ride like a GSXR. Being the fastest kid on the block does not mean that you have extracted the most enjoyment that anyone could extract from two wheels. You will leave people in the dust who will enjoy their two wheels more than you could imagine possible. They might be slowing traffic as they haul 100 reed baskets to market on an old Honda C-70. And it irritates you. But they're going to have a big payday. And they're ecstatic. Or they might be riding a bike that you don't understand, can't afford, and it irritates you. Why? So many people in these comments are irritated that this rider comfortably pushed this beautiful machine to find its limits, and did it flawlessly, without breaking a sweat. He eased into it, found that edge, and then proceeded to hug the edge of those limits. Like he was just taking a casual ride. And enjoying it.

Here's an amazing video, but this means he won't be posting again for a little while :/ Brilliant video as always, beautiful scenery, and that engine sounds brutally beautiful. Cyclists are the most entitled losers on the road. Because they have right of way compared to motor vehicles (for some godforsaken reason) they tend to disregard the little amount of rules they DO have to follow, because they know cars would have to slam on their brakes and go off the road to avoid hitting them and being at fault.

I think this bike will put a dent but not directly into Harley. Harley I think will still have its usual customer base(machismo and 1%ers) but for people who just want something not as obnoxious and with experience, they'll find BMW. BMW already has a decent presence. I saw 25 police bikes at the same dealership lol

I came off a Fat Boy and onto an R18 classic, fitted a Corbin seat and find the seating position perfect for me at 5'10". I like your riding style always in the right gear for the speed and task. Yours does seem to touch down on the left side very easily though - mine has never touched down on either side even when I push it through twisties. A friend had a turn on it, he'd gotten straight off a classic R900 and was amazed at how light and flickable it is compared to what he'd expected. A very underrated bike but a massive presence on the road, cars will pull hard to the left to let me by (we drive on the left here like UK, Japan and Australia) A great ride and great sound. Great video experience

On the scraping, with R series of any size you need to be accelerating in the corners to make the bike stand up more and this minimises the chance of scraping.
