When I shop for high performance sports cars, I want to know how fast and how well it brake. It's easy to make a car go fast, stopping it is where performance can't be compromised and can't fail! I'm also checking for suspension, balance and tires. I drove a Cobra SVT Convertible. At times, doing 250, I wondered, what if this car rolls. Sold the care before I put a roll cage in it. I'm eyeballing the M8 Competition, but I think I will keep it Germany where I can enjoy driving it without worrying about cops, politicians and members of the public telling me how speed kills and how dangerous it is while they drink and drive, text, follow too close and pass on the right, while blocking the passing lane. I hate driving in Canada! We have many great roads, but far too many restrictions.

High performance German cars are meant to be pushed to the limits especially on the Autobahn. That is why their cars are well built.

No, it’s not. They’re also meant to be comfortable at low speeds. They’re grand tourers, not hardcore super cars.

You count the meters until the speed limit expires... 180-230 km/h is a good travel speed, empty roads for more a rare, or you have to drive late or early in the mornig.

Well if we go into physics: Someone moving with 90 km/h sees the car moving away from him with 220 km/h. So from my experience I would say it would look insane when someone moves away from you with about 61 meters per second :D can't Imagine.

I love the fact that it shows you the temperature of the tires. Gives you a good idea of what sort of grip you can expect in colder weather.

I know this comment is 3 months old but anyway, There are fences around Large parts of the Autobahn Potholes are Something i encountered only once in my Lifetime on the Autobahn, the government part responsible for the Autobahn is 24/7 looking If every Inch of the Autobahn is in good shape, it gets instantly fixed which is responsible for Most construction on the Autobahn

I have a high school friend who is engineer working for a company manufacturing some parts of F1 engines here in Belgium. About a year ago he told me "hey, let's go to Professional Motorsport World expo in Köln". He told me to wait him at a highway parking near the german frontier where he'd pick me up. While waiting for him in the parking, i see an M2 pass by. I was like "nice car". I didn't realised it was him. He kept the fact he recently bought an M2 to make for a good surprise. Few minutes later we're at 300 something on the autobahn. This is nuts man. You look at trucks pass by and u're like oh gosh, i might die anytime if a car step on the left lane. And then it happens, and he brakes, u're passenger, floating in the air with only the seatbelt preventing you to eat the windshield. I didn't even realise a car could brake that hard honnestly. Anyways. Here i am, still alive.
I got scared right here in my house. 😂 Well done BMW and the dare devil driver.

Imo it is not that stable at high speed. I drove the M850i several times and around 220-260 km/h i had to countersteer all the time. The Audi RS5 compared to the M850i was much more stable.

@@dakrieger123 Bruv, I know this comment is old but stop lying. M8 Competition is actually very stable. My friend has the highest spec BMW M8 Competition. And I drove it around almost 170 MPH (Around 270 KM/H) and it was actually very stable.

I wished America would develop stretches of interstates with derestricted speeds, and terms of use that says drivers must hold special permit and car must undergo quarterly inspections. If i could cruise at 147mph, I'd visit other cities more often.
