@@masonblatz3843 Rod Bearings, Throttle Actuators, Oil Scavenge pump, and Vanoss bits(You could also install a Vanoss delete kit). But should have zero issues with the motor after those things, and the right and proper aftermarket rod bearings are installed. The SMG trans however, is pretty dramatic and fun to drive at high speeds and acceleration. But terrible in pretty much every other way, including insanely expensive maintenance. If you can find one of the 1400 Manual 6 speed equipped E60 made for the US. I'd highly recommend it for fun and maintenance reasons.

Do these engines have the same rod bearings/ rod bearing problem as the stock engine? I’m looking at buying a 80,000km m6 tuned by dinan but don’t know if it’s more of a risk then a stock m6

Hey MR; yes, we are still around !-{) Not that Fking old yet!... Mr. Steve Dinan is running his business at the same facility in Morgan Hill, CA where we built these monster V10s back in the day. I just finished a 10 year stint as an engine inspector / trackside engineer with INDYCAR where I tried to keep Honda Performance Development & GM/Chevy/Ilmor Engineering in check, making sure they play nicely inside the sandbox (IMS Oval) and the other 17 races during the season.

I know it's an age old argument, but...10w60 or 5w50 oil, in a stock V10 with recent rod bearings...anyone?
@robi4387
2 жыл бұрын
Every garage I know only uses 10w60. I always carry a litre of the stuff. If the rod bearings are recent then they should be the new design and you are golden. Old or new bearings no difference to the oil you should be using. The only place I have come across folks thinking using anything other than 10w60 is a good idea is on KZread.
