I love how they did such a good job with the engine sounds. Usually in movies when they dub them in they use sounds from a different car with a completely different engine.

They did here too. Iirc that’s a 535… with s38b35 engine sounds.

What I love about this car chase (apart from the very cool and great sounding E34) is that they kept it clean and simple. Today its would be a mess of over the top CGI, lame sound effects, intrusive music and unnecessary explosions to make it more "epic". In this scene they let the cars do the talking, and it is so much more believable as a result. Sometimes less really is more!
The 1990s were so awesome, man. I'm proud to have been born in such an epic and cool decade!!

"Ronin" is a great film!Chase scenes with the M5, and also Audi and Peugeot cars, are some of the best ever!

Как я обожаю этот кузов,и ненадо там дорого, болезнь БМВ, моментов и нюансов,просто легенда,законодатель тех времён и, автомобиль который в своё время поставил планку для остальны производителей.
The E34 is one of the best BMWs ever ! Exciting driving experience for a car of this age, built like a tank, incredibly reliable, nice engine sound, smooth power delivery and of course the M5 is the culmination of this fantastic car. I learned to drive in one of those as a teenager (actually it was a '91 520i 150hp) but still exciting enough for a 16 year old. I think in the movie they used a 525i for the crash scenes I hope they didn't crash a real M5 :D

forgot to say mine come with bmw alloy wheels. a ford sierra 4x4 2.8 had no chance of keeping up with me

BMW stunt team rearly use M cars for movie scenes. This they said was a 535i.

The whole movie is great. Very underrated.
I loved BMWs from a young age, and bought a 1995 5 series when I got the chance. I think this movie had a lot of influence, and I never regretted that car

I have e38 740il 2001 beautiful car one of the best 7 series ever
i think its a 525i or 530i with M5 rims. No M-Technik bumpers, no M-Sportseats, no M-technik sideskirts and the exhaust pipes are to small for a M5

Hadn't realized this before but the car action scenes in this movie are very, very well made (epecially the scene when they're driving on incoming traffic). And considering the time this movie came out...really great job!

Обожаю автомобили марки бмв... Особенно, в кузове е класса. М3 как и м5,действительно мои любимки... Но эта сцена!... Действительно поражает! Респект и уважуха тому, кто этот фильм снимал! А я погнал гонять в дальнобойщики 2, чтоб трюкачить на е39 от фирмы бмв... Счастливо, парни! Удачных гонок наскар, дамы и господа.

They used an M5 and possibly 535i (525i?) in scenes. Some shots are from M5 (interior) but on most scenes is 535i (525i?)

They used many different cars for that chase, I believe most of them were 525i, but still what a tribute to an E34, love that car💘, got one in my garage.

It's a 535i (208hp). Even if the 406 uses the most powerful V6 (207hp), there's no way it can keep up with a 335hp M5.

211hp if you consider civilised units, and it couldnt be 340hp(what you refer to as '335', again, civilised! units) as its prelift so its 315hp.

These 5 mins are better then most of the New Fast & Furious movies and probably most of the new Racing movies.
My wife drives like that when she's late picking the kids up from school 😲👌
So, 4:22... for the first time ever after seeing this movie 5 or 6 times, I have realized that the tire that is being shot is clearly in a 15 inch Standard E34 rim and not the M5 rim is it should have been.

They used in film both the M5 E34, and 535i manual E34. For crash they used 535i you can see the basic 535i wheels 225 section wheels. In city high speed chase they used both M5 and the 535i
