The M5 makes almost 1000HP based on its weight and quarter mile time. The ferrari probably makes almost 800 at the crank based on its time and weight. That is of course based on SAE standards which none of this companies submit for rating because they are just advertising their hp independently and just over rating them. A dyno of both cars on the same day is really the only way to tell the the deviation in power between the two

I saw the stage 3 kit video, but they tested it in a windy day, so they couldn't break faster than stage, but when I saw the difference in the rods and the forged internals, build well, this engine will not grenade easy. I think it is a great tune, not a few runs blown engine tune for sure.

considering the pista probably having a lot less drag effect than the m5 being as bulky as it is and also considering the power loss with the 4wheel drivetrain i am quite impressed at how even the rolling race was

Seamus McShamish No this tune is about 6k including labour. The “30k” build is the 1000hp forged engine which was only completed last week. This video was filmed prior to that.

M5 comp with Evolve's ECU tune is some serious business. NO CAP!

Joshua Thomas Evolve are probably the most reliable BMW mechanics you can find. They’re definitely reputable so i’m sure they’ve built the stage 2 tune in a way that it won’t compromise the parts. Also it’s basically impossible to have a tuned car with zero issues, however minor they are.

At 2:28 and 2:30 you can actually see the M5 "jump" forward after shifting, almost like he was lagging in a video game, just incredible. I think this was the most emotional, surprised, and maybe even a bit "uncomfortable" reaction from Matt I have seen in like 4 years of watching carwow

Common sense would predict by the time the Ferrari had hooked up, the M5 would've had an insurmountable lead. Mat should've done a rear wheel drive only drag to make it equal.

tomáš šupák the bmw is 0.1 seconds slower. Did you even look at the difference in price. And i did not see it is THE MOST exciting cars, it’s ONE OF the most exciting cars. Porsche did 10.1, this thing 10.2. That upgraded bmw is a bargain compared with the Porsche

Hotshot Haythem this is a very light tune tho barely stage 1. most cars cant do that with this amount of upgrades

Rolling race is somewhat more or less just hp and torque/ engine output game. Just look at how e63s estate managed to beat significantly lighter f type svr

morepanicboy true. But if both cars had been in their sportier modes, I think the F-Type would have been closer, it’s gearbox shifted down way slower than the Mercs.

I'll be the party pooper! - mod the Ferrari in a similar way and then see who wins. The M5 is impressive though, all of 'em, which is why I have an old and very leggy one.

This is a standard m5, not a competition. You can tell by the alloys and chrome grill which was replaced by black in the competition model.

That M5 is amazing - but given that the ZF gearbox is fitted to many different cars and has different torque ratings to suit, I’m wondering if that gearbox will break with 950 Nm going through it.

Did the ferrari even use the launch control?? Did not hear anything and it also did look like he just stepped on the gas..
