I absolutely love how a german car with 320 hp, a manual gearbox and a squared design that has nothing on todays car's aerodinamics cruises at almost 300 km/h daily 25 years after manufactured. and it's fuel economy numbers aren't even bad... The e36 M3 is really out of the curve, outstanding!

actually you'd be surprised that the squared design of the e36 has same if not less drag coefficient than most of today's cars. Everyone's always yelling about how the E36 M3 is shaped like a brick and the E46 M3 is so much better... but some research indicates they have the same Cd... 0.32. The E36 design is actually very low drag for the time it was designed.

@@IAP_mkt I even think the total frontal surface of the e36 is less then the e46. And that's probably why (my) M3 e36 can outrun the M3 e46 at speeds above 100km/h.

I wish we would of gotten the euro model here in the states, but now we can import them. I just saw a video about this dealer who just imported a British Racing Green E36GT. 👌

Engine running at 6k+ rpm for 5 minutes at full load, I guess its in good condition. The steering wheel doesnt even shake at almost 300kph, simply amazing for a car thats more than 20 years old.

bmwfreak328i Dutch and German are pretty close any way :) And living near the Autobahn must at least make your day once a week lol even if you drive a small two door hatch **flies away at top speed of 140kmh**

This type of engine sound has to be my favorite. I like big rumbly V8's as well, but this sound so precise and has more tonality.

Thanks man, now sounding bit less loud. Changed the exhaust to Supersprint X-Pipe and Supersprint Sport muffler. Still sounding great!

Hi Erik, I have watched most of your video's and enjoyed each one! this is your best one, I have one of the last of E36 M3 EVO 2, I bought it in London 2003 it still has less than 50,000 Kilometers on it.Best looking BMW by a mile in my opinion all the performance you could ever want in a car.My one is re-mapped and de-restricted as well, no chance of going that fast in my country or I would be put off the road forever LOL !!! Cheers.

@Shadowpillar that is absolutely spot on my friend. i just came back from there in april, autobahn drivers are the most disciplined i have ever encountered. very enjoyable driving experience, feeling safe cruising at 200km/h. I wish american drivers are 80% as good as they are.

@Plisii We drove at speeds between 280-290 on the GPS. Because of the Sporty Muffler the noise is a bit more than stock ;) But we could speak to eachother without shouting :)

@azikosha Hay, The A2 is also a good Autobahn, i saw the video of the 850CSI from Hannover to Berlin :-) The Oil temp stayed below 110C at 280~290 on the GPS. The car was also very stable at those high speeds.

Okay its the A31(saw the shield "Lingen" but it´s it on a sunday morning at 6 o´clock? Never saw this lanes (only 2 lanes, that the bad thing on the A31) so empty! Nice car, nice drive...thank you for this video

Today early morning at 3.30 am went to try if my E92 M3 ESS software worked and it did. Here in my country even the better "autobahns" are not of great quality, so cruising 290 km/h I had to back off. Too many bumps on the road. The car was still accelerating at good speed and would have breaken the 320/330 (tacho) barrier easily. You get a lot of adrenaline! Hopefully get to Germany still this year. Great video about a legendary E36 btw!

Peter Hammer yea it's stock only speed limiter removed and sport muffler. At that moment Powersprint. At this moment Supersprint with X-pipe. My record is 293km/h by GPS. See my other video's :-)

I have a test in an Italian Auto Magazine about E36 M3 in 1995. They achieved 5.43 s 0-100 km/h and 13.6 s quarter mile. Impressive data even by today's standards. In a test in Germany the car achieved 0-200 km/h in just 20.5 s!!

Nariman Asgharian yeah man I tested my car in 17.5s from 0-200! Maybe it's a bit faster now because I removed the catalytic convertor. My car is also faster then e46 M3. See my other video's. :)

Hey Erik, im curious about how often do you go through tires? and your tire PSI your running? Specifically with a dead on alignment, with Y rated michelin or Continental tires or other. Im living in Montana where lots of our highways dont have speed limits and I drive about 70 miles to work and back everyday, and remain steady at about 140mph & 170 when I feel fresh. I usually go through tires about once a year Camaro Z28 (275/40ZR18’s)
