The way that RS4 launches, especially during the second run, you can see the front wheels are pretty much close to lifting off the ground! That's one helluva car

Absolutely love the M3 CS, in fact I was lucky enough to have that actual car for a week. Shows BMW's BHP figures are very conservative, I estimated the S55 puts out just over 500bhp in reality. Great video but I found the CS supple suspension set up made it very easy to daily...

Juan Contreras another bmw fan that doesn't accept the fact that his favorite car is slower off the line than his old rival... it's a choice from bmw to keep the m3 as a RwD, for very good reasons by the way (such as the pleasure of driving). Trying to avoid the comparison with a direct rival is not fair. Each car has its own strenghts and each car fights with their weapons. The fight is completely fair. But don't worry the bmw is better on a lot of other points (but i guess you won't try to find excuses for the audi when she loses?)

I'm so addicted to watching carwow racing BMWs that I watch them over and over again

Well,RS4 is 1800kg and M3 is 1600, plus M3 has slightly bigger engine with 10hp more, and it's a sedan and Rs4 is Avant...So it is obvious that M3 is a track car and Rs4 a big autobahn sleeper...

M50B25 Turbo Yes, because this one is one heavy ass, as heavy as A6, and almost as heavy as A8. If it was 1600kg just like M3 CS it would completely destroy m3 on drag race and be probably pretty even on rolling race.

Nothing to do with that..whether it’s a wagon or a coupé. It’s got the RS badge which means it’s made by Audi’s high performance private subsidiary. Drag race clearly shows BMW’s supremacy and finesse.

As someone who has always wanted an M3 growing up, I've now converted to Audi after owning a 05 M3, 17' M3 and now a 21' Q3. I converted after my brother got the 18' RS3. For me it comes down to the looks and the tech superiority of the Audi. Either way both are a treat. I'll be waiting for the 2022 RS3 Sportback to hit the 🇺🇸

Part of what I love most about these reviews is how genuinely he enjoys what he's doing. He absolutely loves it. The enthusiasm is evident in every single video.

Great video! I'm an Audi fanboy so I'd pick the RS4, but that gorgeous blue M3cs is one awesome machine. Both great cars so can't go wrong either way, gotta love German engineering!

Mine too. It might be slightly slower off the line, but that is a boring 'win' for the Audi, and requires zero skill. Lets compare them around a track, and see the BMW disappear into the distance.....

@@F90ronny63 You haven't read my comment properly have you. I said the AUDI was faster in a drag race. Drag racing is boring, and requires no skill. Driving on a track with corners requires skill, and that is why I love my M140i and wouldn't swap it with an RS3 (the M140i's direct competitor). The BMW is much more fun. In sport+ it turns off 50% of the traction control, allowing me to slide the back end around corners, drift out, it's bloody brilliant. In an RS3 all I would be able to do is understeer around a corner and then pin it once I straightened up - b o r i n g...... Who buys a performance car to get good MPG ?? Although, saying that, I'd bet my months wages my M140i gets a lot more mpg than an RS3, if I drive in comfort mode it is actually pretty good on fuel. The driving position is perfect, and the seats are absolutely amazing, and in comfort mode with the adaptive suspension it rides the bumps very well. 6 cylinder BMW engines are world class for reliability, it's their V8's which have issues. Now that was real world talk.

@Dylan Jacobs I have driven plenty of Audi's. I actually work in the motor trade Dylan, at a main dealership. The actual 0-60 time is boring, because traffic light racing IS boring, it requires no skill, just sit there holding the steering straight and pin the throttle. I get my thrills driving a twisty, undulating, challenging road, where you can feel the car really working hard around the corners, moving around, requiring you to correct any over-steer. For daily use, the Audi is not 'better'. It is not more comfortable : the M140i has adaptive suspension so it is very comfortable in comfort mode, yet stiffens the suspension in sport +. My M140i is mapped, and can also do 0-60 in under 4 seconds anyway, but what I like more about the BMW than the Audi, is the BMW only has RWD which means to get those sort of 0-60 times requires skill in modulating the throttle to get maximum traction, it's not easy. In the Audi, just use launch control and let the AWD do all the work for you, it's too easy, no skill. I'm not talking bollocks, I am talking from real life experience, and from the knowledge of somebody who works in the motor trade. Audi's are great cars, but they do not require the same skills as driving a pure RWD car, and THAT is what gives me a thrill. Oh, and at parties I'm usually the one either DJ-ing, or playing guitar & singing, so I'm actually quite a 'fun' person :-)

I love Audi but there's just something about the BMW M3!

I'm a Grandfather ; but the RS4 will make me an "S.C. grandpa = Super Cool .

The BMW M3 is a lovely car and a great performer. So too is the Audi RS4 and it is roomier i.e. more practical. The Audi RS4 is a heavier and probably thirstier car with the Quattro system. The Quattro is ultimately a big + in everyday driving, especially in the wet and in Winter. Which is why, although I like both, I would ultimately buy the RS4.

I've had the cs for about a month now and i can tell you that the car is far more practical than it seems. Ride isn't that bad at all and I live in NY with some of the shittiest roads you've ever seen. Not having a center console and arm rest gets annoying but the interior is so worth it imo, even the racing seats are still comfy and don't bother you unless your in the car for 2+ hours. Power is just unbelievable. I saw he had it in sport mode for the rolling race and i'm surprised it still did that well. Car is quick in sport but sport plus is just another level. Holy shit the sensation of thrust off the turbos is just addicting. RS4 looks good and is definitely more practical but i can't imagine it matches the CS in terms of fun. So long as you don't drive like an asshole the car works perfectly fine in rain or sleet (had a lot of both in march) and i think it's ultimately the better pick so long as you live in a place where winters aren't too harsh.

M3 CS cost 50k more than a regular m3. For that price you can have a premium plus a4 and a regular m3. Oh yea the CS doesn't have a arm rest, dual zone climate control or rear air vents to save wieght.

Price difference between m3 competition and CS is a little over 10k new if you want to compare it properly. And a year old M3 comp can be got for 40k or thereabouts.... i do wonder what will happen to second hand value of CS. Look at the CSL now

S3Ben Idk where you live but in Germany the m3 coast about 80k. With the competition pack 7,9k more. The Cs coasts about 113k so its a Minimum difference of 25k.

effeciency vs fun and driver focused man i love both cars and i heard that a 6sp manual m3 is more capable because of it's longer gearing(lot more grip) so it would be interesting to see the m3 manual vs that same rs4 i bet the launch on the manual m3 will be better.

The Standard M3 has 3 more years in the market compared with the rs4 so the competition is was fair. Besides from that M division always be the more focus on DRIVING and enjoying a sports car like it's meant to be.

With proper launch control you can hit 11.6-11.7 in the m3 CS. I did 11.9 with my 2015 m3 at the drag strip, when it was stock. Then 11.4 with only K&N drop in filters and bm3 stage 1 tune lol

Audi RS model are fastest on drag race because of quattro but on roll always they lose from M and AMG!Audi make them more agressive plz!If this M3 was AWD we know the winner!

Ryan Angkasa The Rs4 is the ideal choice for the real world because of the AWD advantages, comfort and practicality. The M3 in simple terms is a driver's car, on track its a beast and in the real world it would devour twisty roads. I love both cars to fair, but I'd take Beamer because I love the aggressive design. The spec shown in the video is beautiful.

I heard that if you just step on the gas pedal on the BMW without holding the brake it actually does pretty good

i think what you need is a four wheel drive car which switches to rear wheel after launching of the start line.

The colour of the M3 CS is awesome, i'd buy this one rather than the RS4 even though it might be faster

RS4 is quicker off the line because of Quattro AWD, but M3 is probably faster because after a certain point AWD starts losing to RWD

He will not, probably because the CS is ~25k more expensive than the standard M3 Competition. With 25.000 he could get his RS4 to 600-700hp 😂

Why did you have the M3 in its regular Sport mode and not Sport Plus? The suspension was on comfort FFS. If you are going to be honest, at least put the car in its 'race' settings and not 'getting groceries' mode. For anyone interested, skip to the 4:21 mark to see the M3's settings are tuned down.

An RWD car will suspension wise accelerate faster with the softest setting. Nothing wrong in here.

I'm a BMW fan and I have to admit, rear wheel drive of the bmw have no chance against the quattro system.

You guys should stripe the run way ever meter where you do the brake test so it’s easier to see who wins

M3/4 is a Performance Monster 😍

I’ve thought about my choice, I would choose the M3 CS for these reasons 1.) its a special M car that you rarely see on US roads, I love the exterior design so much it’s very poised and angular, the interior while it’s not the most luxury based that’s really not a big deal for me because it’s more of track Edition car and I current drive a 2008Honda Civic sedan so it’s a step up, also it’s RWD so it’s more playful but it can kill you if your amateur driver😅, and even though it’s not available with a Manual gearbox the DCT is fine !, also it’s not as expensive as a M4 GTS but none the less it’s still over 100k and more expansive then the RS4 🤔, but if you have six figures to spend on a car then I guess it doesn’t matter 😅🤷🏾‍♂️

There’s BMW M3, M3 Competition, M3 CS and just an AUDI RS4 station wagon. Well I would say to put the RS4 ABT against the BMW M3 CS.

That M3 CS looks insane!

Am so in love with Audis RS models and that Quattro. So great for drag races which we use on day to day racing like from robot to the next than open tracks. Comfortable ride and more reliable than BMW.

Why u allways try to set BMW on 1st place when that place is for audi, now for 40 years. Just WHY??

@Real M My friend, take a look better history, both of those two are good in nowdays, but audi change the history of car industry in every segment of that word. Safety quattro, interior, exterior, comfort, robust..........

We’ve seen the rs3 vs. Rs4, we’ve seen the rs4 vs. M3 but we would love to see the m3 vs. The RS3 they both have the same standing quarter mile time. Cheers

Always loved the fast audis... the insides are always miles ahead. But the M3 is brilliant, like a european muscle car. Superb.

Mat is driving a standard RS4 B9 Avant he never once says it’s tuned at ABT. My point is that he should race a standard M3 as he is in a standard RS.

@@Interisti2506 cause its same HP. M3 CS has 30hp more and 50 torque then stock. ABT - tuning company. has +80hp and +90 torque. Then m3 g-power vs RS4-R :P

Considering the traction advantage the Audi has...that CS clawed back the advantage well.

Did that the M3CS have Cup 2’s on it? On an unrelated note, that M3CS looks vicious!

M3 CS is a true sports car. Wins rolling race, brake test, with a few more meters wins a standing drag too. Its a no brainer this is the superior car. And that's the reason it sets a quicker track time than this Audi wagon

For daily driving i would choose the rs4 for sure. Sporty, amazing look and practical.The m3 is a typical m3 - slow from a digg fast at higher Speed. M3 is so much lighter, trackfocused, more powerful and so much better aero but still a compromise compared to a real sportscar.

The way people give the M3 the more sporty/raceable vote you would think y’all went an Norschleife every weekend or they drive allways at the limit. your argument is pretty interchangeable. im german. the wagon thing is pretty german i guess. i love wagons. im a very active guy. i love riding my bike and do some other sports. i allways take my bike with me when i drive the beach in spain or netherland. just respect personal preferences. in daily driving the rs4 will allways be the faster car. on track its another story. but nobody buys a wagon for track.

jojajo2707 the argument isn’t interchangeable at all. You can feel the m3’s superior chassis by doing something as simple as changing lanes, making a turn at a light or taking it through some backroads need to go on a track for that. The m3 has roof racks for bikes, and the rs4 is only ever faster from the dig, the m3 is faster in every other equation. I didn’t disrespect your preference, I just think wagons are fucking hideous vehicles in general. We don’t play that shit here in the US.

Maybe try racing in Sport Plus and using the paddles?

Do you guys do something like warm the tires ?
