Worth noting is that not many people will own this and it won't be produced as much as the other M2 models. So it'll hold more value than other M2's. But it is definitely still a lot of money over a Competition.

The new M5 is as big as an old M7 - if it had existed :P If there was a new M7, it's size would be mesured in double decker busses xD But yeah... Never understood the point of the new M5 and such. Who want's a giant clumsy 2 ton barge for sporty driving? Sure - it kind of works - but that doesn't make it right xD

The rattling exhaust note of these new smaller engines really is a major downer. Nice car though.

I really like that Misano Blue. Still San Marino is best but wow BMW does come up with amazing colours to go with their amazing cars. Not so keen on a small coupe may as well be a 2 seater.

Sorry - but too pricey considering the really modest performance improvement compared to the M2 Competition. Michelin Sport Cup 2 and carbon fibre brakes brings a big chunk of the lap time improvements. I have an allocation, but fear I would take a big hit on depreciation like owners of the M4 CS have done here in Sweden. Will drop my allocation unless discounts are offered. Thanks Thomas for another great first look. Looking forward to a driving review.

M2 sti wrx I'd put a 22b spoiler on it n the roof scoop!

The BMW guy said it well, with such models it's mostly about exclusivity. No one would pay 30K more just to get an extra 40hp and a cool paintjob or whatever.

@Stefan That's not what exclusivity means. The price alone will lead to few of those cars driving around. So when you buy it, you can be quite confident yours will be a rarity in your area.

@Stefan Exclusivity - "the state of catering for or being affordable by only a few, select customers". This can be achieved by both producing a limited numbers, or bumping up the price to levels that few people can afford. It has nothing to do with the car having value for collectors. When you buy this model, you're pretty much sure your car will be the only one in the area, or at least one of the very few (depending where you live). That's what exclusivity means.

i had a BMW 318 IS once, in 1996. It had the same design as this one. Not much progress in the design department at BMW since then. Before that I had a brand-new BMW 318 i. Damn that car, it fell apart on me in just one year.

Believe it or not my biggest problem is how hard it is "PUTTING THE SEAT BELT ON" They should have done a double shoulder strap like the Race Cars. Competition Package BMW M2 is the best handling BMW in the line up today. Unfortunately, you can lease the more Expensive M4 Coupe Cheaper than the M2 in the US - No incentive and very low residual value. Bargain is the M4.

Buy M2 Competition and paint the wheels yourself and there you have it, M2 CS.

Best car of 2019!!!

M2 has always somehow sounded better than the M3/4

Save the money, buy the normal M2, strip out the rear interior and rollcage it. Take it to a stage 2 and upgrade the suspension, wheels, brakes and tyres. That will set you back about £5-8k MAX!

carbon fiber roof, splitter, spoiler(although tiny), M4 adaptive suspension (which now makes it a full modern M car with presumably no more blank button on the console); factory tested 40hp tune, and finally a nice interior (no more basket weave, which was the one thing that had me on the fence with the M2 comp). Not sure if its worth 30k, but surely 20 at least, the suspension alone is probably 12k+), plus the cost of design/intergration

@@kingakim11 at the end of the day it's still not worth it due to it being 90k+ range there are numerous of other sports cars new and used that offer just as much or better performance. If you have the money to blow that's fine, but for the above average consumer car enthusiasts it doesn't make that much sense in purchase a vehicle like this.

I hate the recent BMW trend of sagging that enormous muffler from the rear. It looks like an oversized nutsack, and just ruins the overall appearance of the vehicle.

I dont know if its fair to call it a review if you're not driving it. Would be interesting to also have owner' review one year in, or 5 years in after the purchase of a car, to get an idea of reliability.

The interior is so far behind Benz

the golden alloy wheels must be their Ace card. showing it all the time. all of them German cars are manufactured in China. Not paying the employees there proper wages,

"also light" this car wweighs more then 1500 kg. lol this whole CS shit is a big marketing move nothing more. the M3 CSL had its name justified. it shaved more then 100 kg from the normal car and many more features. this M2 cs is a joke. you could just have ur m2c with performance parts and done

the 2 series only looks good in this guise. the regular 2 series looks like shit!

The dash design is so old looking. Audi, Volkswagen and mercedes are offering large build in screens, BMW still with small pop up screens, so disappointing
