M2 is overall very good package. Twinscroll turbo, line engine, close to 50/50 weight distribustion(with driver), very aerodynamic with 0.29Cd, rear wheel drive with torque vectoring diff, simple interior with classic analog gauges, good visibility. Its my next BMW blue sports car with manual gear box. Great car. Thx BMW

This is amazing but you know I'm a huge BMW fan are you ??? Amazing video

First and foremost a drivers' car. Best I like about M2 ( in looks ) are those blistered fenders, really makes the car stand-out and that classic 6-cylinder engine. The interior you can say is below that of the competition but very much appropriate for this car and it's purpose. Everything and some about the interior/dash area are there which is a good thing and is arranged in a clear, concise fashion. Engine is a screamer.. just wow. No doubt I'd pick the M2 over M3/M4.

Was waiting for the famous "pump it up yo". Was not disappointed :D

From all track reviews all over KZread, i was waiting for Thomas to do his great informative review. although this M2 review comes nothing like his Mercedes C cab or Audi TTRS in terms of location and roads, and i can feel Thomas wasn't on his best days and not concentrate on some infos like the M2 don't come with adaptive suspension so changing sport/comfort won't effect stiffness. still Thomas nails it with his deep reviews and i love it :)

Great review and I have an M2 since December 2016 now run in and have to agree super agile and faster than stated I believe had a race the other day with a new Golf R and left it behind on the straight and the bends so very happy ;-)

I got to drive the M2 with M Performance Exhaust on Spa Francorchamps what an amazing car that is! Feels so so nimble and fast and the burbles are so addicting my god! I really got that vibe again listening to you.. Great review as always! Happy I subbed :D If you could put the upcoming LCI 430i or 440i M-sport on your "to-do" list with the new digital cluster and 19" wheels that would be great and an immediate view from me. :)

Audi and Mercedes are leaving BMW behind, and I currently own a BMW. They still make great cars, but just not advancing forward as fast as the other two, and the designs are all too evolutionary rather than revolutionary. The new 5 series is an example of this. Great review as always Thomas!

I think that Thomas is right:- premium vehicles should not Compulsory leather when there are now so many other alternatives. There should be a non cost option of something else. On a different topic, it is interesting how high performance cars have become relatively affordable over the last 10 years. Cars like this, the TTRS etc question the point of cars costing £100k or more. Hyper-hatches of more than 300 bhp are much cheaper again. Pity you can't use the performance on roads:(

Is road safety a pity? As Thomas always says, make sure you are in a parking lot or in low traffic areas and then you can try to push that pedal for a little bit :)

Love your reviews! They are so complete and you pay attention to all the little details. Would you be so kind and review the M2 Competition when it is available and possibly compare it to the base M2?

Yea, i have watched that, but it was last year. Any chance doing it again this year? Maybe with a higher up model (440i or M4) and not convertible? Maybe the "perfect package" gran coupe? Looking forward to any of it.

nice video, but I don't think the suspension is adjustable as you say on 22:35 i ordered 1 and it's not on the option list

I wonder if the LCI will get LED turn signals, looks so cheap on a BMW to have the old incandescent lighting. Such a sexy car though, great review as always Thomas!

Although the interior quality of BMW is not the best one, which i think i due to outdated model line up (new 5 series has already a very good interior quality), the BMW M2 is one of the purest an most fun car amongst the cars of the premium manufactors. thx for this excellent review!

leider ist die Produktion auf Grund von Problemen bei der Zulassung der veralteten Klimaanlage eingestellt worden :D peinlich peinlich. am Sommer kommen die Modelle wie TTRS und RS3 auf den Markt

I think I am cross shopping this and the TTS so I thank you for this. The TTS certainly has a cutting edge interior compared to this but I think this is more the driver's car for sure. Nice job.

Back in the day the NSX was competitive with 290 HP. Now the M2 has another 80 HP. This would have been big stuff not long ago.

I think if I was in the market for for type of car, I'd buy the 240i xdrive which is $12k less than the M2 and only 0.3 sec to 100kph slower.. The alternative is the new RS3 which comes with extra doors and in sportback or sedan versions. The M2, the RS3, golf R are great in that they don't scream "look at me! I got a fast car and a small...." Can't really go wrong with any of these. (I also like the 4 series gran coupe. If you are buying a 3 series be cool and different and buy a gran coupe) Great review Thomas!!!

Hello Thomas, I just watched both your M2 and F-type V6 reviews and thoroughly enjoyed both. I'm in the predicament right now where I have to decide between the M2 and F-type V6 (convertible or coupe) for my next car, second hand 2016's are both around 40k €. I'm wondering which one you think is the best 'drivers car'. I'll never go on track, however I do love very lively cars and drive sporty all the time and occasionally go on sporty roadtrips. Your input would help me a lot! Thanks in advance.

Beautiful car but I'd appreciate a review of the 220d model 👍

As far as I know you can get every BMW model in a full vegan version, you just have to ask for it and be ready to maybe pay a bit more for the customisation but BMW is pretty flexible building cars beyond standard specs.

This is the first Beemer in some time that's truly interested me. The 3 and 5 series are showing signs of mediocrity in their respective classes IMHO, but here is a BMW that seems like a true standout in its class. Love the big steering wheel, almost seems like a throwback to the Beemer coupes of the late 70's and 80's. I like that they left out a lot of options like power seats and steering column adjustment in order to save weight. The MB AMG C63 and E-class coupe, and Audi RS5 and A5--I don't know, to me they seem too big and heavy to really be able to compete with the agile M2. It seems like the M2 compares better with sports cars like the 911 and the Nissan GT-R as Thomas said. I do wonder though how the Nissan Q60 Red Sport Coupe would compare. Anyway although the interior is getting a bit dated and although I do wish they offered it in less oppressive colors, like maybe light brown or tan, it seems to work pretty well. Thomas I don't think it helps to bemoan leather upholstery--I personally don't think leather is necessary, but it is here to stay as long as it remains cost effective for the manufacturer and buyer.

bdoleza Q60 is amazing style. fast and smooth cross country and very stable at speed with the adaptive steering. and reliable like infinity. X2 is a feel car that makes big acceleration and shines on those special mountain trips.

I love the M2! Best M money can buy! And these basic M3/M4 wheels make it look purer!! Only 2 problems though: since the M2's axles (and therefore the brakes and 18in-19in wheels!) are shared with the M3 F80/M4 F82, then why are the same carbonceramic brakes not offered? Same problem with the door mirrors: the previous 1M had the M3 E92's door mirrors, if you look more closely! These little details made it look special! Why aren't the new M3-M4's door mirrors in the M2 as well? I mean, the 2002 Hommage Concept had both the carbonceramics and the M3-M4's mirrors! Even the X5M-X6M have these mirrors, for Pete's sake! I think we can solve these 2 problems after bying the M2, but it's a bit of a shame the factory doesn't offer these 2 parts as original optional extras!

there is no adaptive suspension on M2....

Audi is the master of the interiors, everything is well made and well designed, Mercedes tried very well to catch them over the last years. Meanwhile at BMW I've saw the next 3 series and the interior is still the same as now.

Anyone else really like this spec? It's so lowkey.

lovely . No direct rival . No matter what people think how faultless the cayman and TT are . Nothing is as desirable as this for an everday companion .

It might feel light but this car is not a light coupe at all. Depending on option, it is actually very close to the weight of the M4. Not good considering how much smaller this car is. It does sound like this car is a very fun and engaging car to drive, but the interior needs to be stepped up esp for an M car. They need better quality plastic/leather/suede and a proper M seat.
