    Great video. I’m taking my 2.7 to Bedford in October so this has been a useful watch to see what the gearing and layout is like in advance. Just going to enjoy and explore the balance of the car.

    Looks to be a great balanced chassis. Only thing I notice is large gap between 2nd and 3rd gear... don't know if you feel that on track....

    Oh I do, I do, I do, I do! There's a right hander after the hairpin left at the end of the long two part straight (at 2:30) where 3rd's too long so it doesn't pull enough, and 2nd is way too short hence going into it in 2nd and shifting up to 3rd mid corner. That one exposes the gearing compromise.

    These dry sessions have been great to watch, it shows just how well poised for track use the Cayman is compared to the Beemer, and it really does compliment the smoothness of your driving style. Really enjoyable to watch that. That's on PS2s as well! Imagine what pace it would have on PS4s or even something like an R888R. I know why you're running the PS2s, and outright pace isn't the point, but nobody seems to have told you that!

    The Cayman is litrally flat though the corners, the M140i rolls and has a slight tendency to wash out. My old 330ci track car would have been a better match in the corners.

    @@roadreg1820 Yeah, I've always put the M140i down as a great road car over a track car, the softness and travel in the suspension is useful and good on the road where there's lots of undulation and inconsistency, but on track it's just not suited. Looks like you were having a lot of fun too though!

    Even though the 140 looks capable of a faster lap time, it looks heavy and cumbersome. The Porsche is the one to be driving

    Loads of understeer from the 140i? Cold tyres? Or natural balance of Goodyear’s?

    It’s an M140i.. it’s not a propper M car. It was me driving, and you do get a bit of understeer, sadly.

    @@AntoineFRS thanks!! Yeah you can really see the limits of the 140’s chassis here. Can’t really compare it to a purpose built, light-weight mid engined sports car, especially with a Mark behind the wheel. Nevertheless, still managed to put a decent gap between us. Had there of been less traffic, I wouldn’t have been visible on camera anymore. The M2 is the one you want for track work, but gotta give the M140i some credit for value for money and how fun it is to drive :)

    @@one40i19 it’s possible, but I cannot corner as fast as the Cayman. It’s just basic physics. I’m on B8’s and Eibach’s but it still rolls allot as you can see, and I don’t have LCA’s to increase camber.

    987.2 3.4 is the only Cayman id get. Especially coming from a 370Z

    Me. Was backing off when I was behind as I don’t like getting too close to the car in front. When I was In front I kept getting stuck behind traffic, which is why he cought up.

    @@DjNikGnashers gonna buy some cosmetic bits for it, rear deffuser, lip spoiler front splitter side skirts got the black 140i badge today through the post, that blue is the best colour I reckon, the car is a weapon, I bricked it driving it back to london from Devon put it comfort mode for most of the journey

    d'accord, le m140i est beaucoup plus performant en tant que polyvalent, cependant, pour moi, il manquait la sensation que je voulais, d'où le changement pour le Cayman ... qui était en fait 1000 £ moins cher 😁👍

    140i go faster only on straigh, for fun on corners it's better cayman 2.7 with no doubt. With 3.4 you can beating him without problems, and with cayman s 987.2 it's even better

    Not quite... the car can handle corners very well if driven correctly, around 500nm of torque helps keep the car line aligned fairly well... A better driver on the Porsche would/should had won as that beemer driver was quality.

    the 3.4 320 hp at 1375kg vs stock 140i. Caymans lighter by 200kg and more useful in the corners. Handling not the best on the bm either.
