The older 2002s had the turn signal on the right side as it should be. You’re going to take your right hand off the wheel to shift anyway.

Only if your car had the winter package it would have the heated nozzles and door lock. Though he didn't mention the BC on the signal lever, some people don't know if you push it in (from the side) it will give you different displays; time, outside temp, estimated miles left on fuel, avg mph, and avg mpg. While displaying MPG you can push the S/R button to display current MPG.

I THINK I always use blinkers out of habit. I have driven since 15 1/2 yrs old (1980s) However not sure about blinkers as I said, Habit. I would need to pay attn to know for sure. This dam lockdown has me going on more drives at night. NO OR LESS people and cops on roads I can push it more and have fun. At that point, blinkers, stop signs/lights, speed limits are just suggestions if cars in front or behind me. IF your not a cop in front of me.... see ya

I just press the fob lock button and the windows roll up automatically every time, havent tried any other way or with the key though, I once held the fob button and the alarm started sounding so I havent tried anything different haha.(I got scared) My fob is rectangular and black with a notch in one of the corners and the button has a bmw logo on it, very small button aswell and a tiny red led too, yours is different, maybe it has something to do with that.

R and L are for parking lights. If your engine is off and you push the signals lever further than normal then position light will turn on at the direction you pushed the lever. For example if you push the lever upwards further than the position that activates your right signal then right headlight and backlight will turn on

Spray WD 40 in the key locks, and ignition. Do this when it’s warm out and wiper the excess off. This will prevent your locks from freezing and it’ll clean it all out. I’ve done this for over 10 years it won’t screw up anything. Also if your keys are very worn order a new key. The worn key will just wear out your locks. Also on old cars like these or any car. Order yourself a nice Coverkraft sun windshield cover. This will protect your dash and keep your car a lot cooler inside. The oem Bmw one is made by Coverkraft as well.

The first tip has some changes with some of the newer US models. With my e90 it would roll down windows/sunroof by clicking unlock but would not do the opposite if you held down the lock button. My current f32 won't either, but it can be easily coded to do so!

Rolling windows up depends on country - works in Europe, disabled in the US probably for liability reasons.

Also the turn signal stick has a hidden feature. I don't remember exactly how but as I remember one has to "force it" left or right or if you prefer to say up or down to put the signal light permanently on to the specific side. (usually handy when parking on the side of the road). and as I know this is available on many cars if not most of cars.

There's this really cool thing all cars come with. It's called an owner's manual. All this and MUCH MORE is right in there. For instance, if your car came with a key with a dead battery? The car charges the key's battery when you drive with it in the ignition.
