BMW F900XR and BMW F900R Long Term Reviews | The Goods, the Bads, and the Must-Buys

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In short, we liked the engines, the riding positions, the lights, and the overall reliability of both BMW F900XR and BMW F900R. Yet we also have some, let's not call them complaints, but mere observations from our daily use. We have also put together a brief list of must-have optional features and accessories for these bikes and... this is it.
What was your experience with the BMW F900XR or BMW F900R so far? Have you tried them already?
This is the end of the 2020 DriveMag Riders' season. Stay safe!

From now on, you can watch us on our new channel - Racing and Adventure. The DriveMag Riders experience was such a nice story, and we're happy to have you with us, but it's time for a fresh start. As far as the clutch goes, with all BMW's, I let the clutch out until it barely starts to engage, THEN I add throttle. Works like a charm. Most BMW's have a very late clutch engagement, so this method makes it so easy

Definitely something awry with the clutch. I've lived with it since I bought the bike and raised it wit my dealer who said it was fine. But I complained again after another month and they contacted BMW who said they were sending a new clutch straightaway without even looking at the bike. Can't wait to get it fitted - hope it makes a good bike even better.

@@jerseyraindog It's interesting, the 2020 900's had a different clutch than the 850GS and had a lot of problems, those are the ones that should be swapped out with no drama. The later 900's supposedly get the 850GS clutch from factory, but some people are still having excessive feedback through the lever and notchy engagement, which is the problem that some dealers are less likely to take seriously, but some have still had major service for if they push hard enough.

How long have you had the F800R? Still enjoying it? I love my F900R but have never ridden the 800. I've ridden the Yamaha XSR and MT-09, and though the average rider prefers the Yamahas for their power, I think there's no comparison in feel, sound, quality, features. I expect anyone who liked the 800 will love the 900. It is much heavier than most of the competition and it gets very pricey with all of the options.
