not sure if this is it but i did a E91 and the shocks are located in the back just under the rear window on the wagon so if the sound is coming from there just take a look under the car and see if they had a leak best way is having someone in the back trying to find the noise when its happening

This could possibly be it, this E91 is a 2010, what are some other signs of bad shocks? I could be really wrong but the car sags a bit in the rear, shocks?

@@tmac1661 It might be. I don't know I just asked a friend that had this car but he is on vacation right now. I am not an owner of a bmw so I would have no idea. I can ask him as soon as he gets back if you want.

I have the same issue with my e91, wondering how to fix

I have the same problem, I only hear this sound when driving over bumps in my e91 lci. If I open the trunk and I push on the bottom of the trunk hard I hear this sound… I removed my truck liner and use some tape on the place where the plastic hits the chassis. Its much less now but it’s still there on every bump. How do we get rid of this guys??

In my case it was the rear shocks, the rubber part on top of the shocks were dried out so they were esentially hitting straight againts metal

@@abergtobias I tried putting padding between the plastic on the end of the trunk which made it less but still hearable I gave up on it. Couple months later in installed bilstein suspension including bump stops and all rubbers in suspension and the sound was gone Double happy 😆🤣

I'll get some solution give me a little while.
