    Love the channel man .. really enjoy watching your videos .. I miss my old e46 325 .. i did the expansion tank (twice ) transmission thermostat (twice too ) hmmm like 2 water pumps , thermostats , water hose (all ) serpentine belt , gaskets , coils , and since the car was from Ohio the Parking brake was rusted and done .. it was easy to delete everything and no more parking brake and since it was An automatic well I say it’s fine since there’s no hills where I live .. at the last time I have a problem with the brake booster .. I hear this noise but I never have the change to fix that and damage the abs .. I put the car for down payment and got now a F30 335i but the plan it’s to get a e46 and maybe a zHp ..😁

    As much as i enjoyed the video you missed some main points. First and foremost, torque specs! That's soooo important when working on cars. The axle nuts need to be tightened to over 200 lb/ft, not just a few hits with an impact gun. I also feel you downplayed getting the hub out and getting the axle back in. Both jobs are really struggles in a car that sees winter roads. Last thing I'll mention is there is a procedure for rear parking brake adjustment, you might get away with not following it but it shouldn't be ignored. Hope you take my comment positively, my intention is to help you improve your content!

  • @DayOffDIY

    @DayOffDIY

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey bogusie! Good to see ya. The cog is the drum brake or parking brake adjustment screw. As you turn the cog it spreads the pads further apart increasing its diameter and resting location against the inner drum of the rotor. I installed these pads with the adjustment screw backed almost all the way down being that there’s so much meat on brand new pads. As they wear down and you want more bite to the parking brake, you can adjust them with brake services 👍🏻 hope that helps

  • @DayOffDIY

    @DayOffDIY

    7 ай бұрын

    ive never had an issue, as long as you start them by hand. I dont have a big enough 1/2 inch torque wrench that can handle it. Ive used an impact gun for the axle nuts for a long time and yeah, no issues so far. I also am very familiar with that gun, its not the strongest, but ive had it for over 10 years so i know its capabilites. I wouldnt if it was a brand new snap on impact or one i havent used before
