i love ur vids bro especially m54 vids that stay helping me. This ISTA seems very good to have going to look into getting it myself..
Amazing job. You are very talented and have a big heart. Great video!
Great video on evacuating almost all the power steering fluid! Why didn't you also put your evacuation hose down the line to the cooler?
Way to go John! , hope all is good Alec.
Sure wish I could get you to work on my 2012 328i coupe
You are bless dear friend and JESUS loves you ! John 3:16 🕊️
There's NO WAY I'm pulling a e46 automatic trans and putting anything but a manual back in. U can get the parts for $500 bux and add 1500 to the asking price
Where the hell is the torque converter solenoid located?? I got p0740 code
The professionals do it with glue. With your method the headliner will stretch from the staples and hang. That is why you had to scrub off the padding from the old headliner. When gluing headliner, heat the glue NOT THE MATERIAL, and apply soft but firm pressure in sections. Think of the sectioning like when you spray paint a straight line. Glue everything piece by piece to get a perfect flat surface with no wrinkles on your corners.
You had to scrub off padding from old headliner, because professionals who do it right; use upholstery glue. It comes in a metal can and it’s yellow
sunroofs are just a pain in the ass. No actual benefit. Just a bs system to fk your car up. Either it leaks drains get clogged. people forgot to fully shuut them , and it leaks and rusts the roof. Even unused ones get hella clogged. Like who the fk opens the roof instead of a window ? Right maybe the druggies that like to smoke in the car. I guess I thought of a use for them. Maybe people trying to sleep in car.
It’s very satisfactory to have worked on every an all of the pitfalls of a basic injection Bosch L-Jetronic and separate Ignition system of the 1984 BMW 318i! I am so glad that you nailed it! I remember that on mine idle was never ok. Most likely due to a vacuum leak on the distributor!
The valve clearance job will take care of the HC and the adjustment of the air flow meter will take care of your CO.
Bro violated that handbrake 😂
Outstanding! I got lost when you ear timed the engine and smelled the exhaust for idle mixture… on my points and carbureted Mazda 1000 from 1982 I set idle speed and mixture in the carburetor after setting the idle spark advance. But never in a fuel injected car.
I found your video and I just bought a 2012 BMW 335i turbo looking forward to learn more from you as you build more cars and BMW line a awesome 😎 video beo
It's a babe of a car! I had a 1984 318i that we imported from Switzerland into Costa Rica where I live. It came with a thermal reactor instead of a catalyzer. The L-Jetronic fuel injection was analogue not digital and worked fairly well! It pinked even on high test gasoline 95 octane RON. So I had to go to the propeller aircraft airport to buy some 100/130 leaded fuel. Then it run very well with regular 90 octane RON mixed with the AV Gas. However, I had to delay timing a bit to use 95 octane RON because they prohibited the sale of AV Gas to strangers... Mine didn't have the idle control valve like yours, it was mechanical because it didn't have A/C on it. It surely brings good memories of youth and a nice ride! Mine didn't even have power steering nor air-conditioning, albeit, it had the rear windows that popped out for ventilation. The engine loved to rev! I miss my bimmer indeed! I hope that the new owner repairs the rust ASAP! What I would have done with the ICV is the dime coin inside and leave everything connected! I wish I saw it before!
Alec, winning!!
Alec, hope all your friends on the line are safe.
Some additional information, as per request from the video :D BMW recommends to have the steering rack as far in as possible when removing and installing the inner tie rod. This is because the rack cannot be countered and the torsion is absorbed entirely by the pinion assembly. The rack also can be regreased on that occasion, especially if - as in this case - it already has rust on it due to a failed rubber boot. BMW prescribes FB-1 grease for this procedure. Maybe this helps somebody...
Thanks for the info! Awesome tip I will no doubt use that next time I do tie rods :)
Love your videos!
Use 15 psi
Long live E30 !!!♥♥♥ OO=[][]=OO

Bro did anyone ever find out where the oil that was in the trunk came from? I bought a 05 330xi for $400 with 197k miles and it had a ton of oil in the back where the spare sits!
Firestone wants to charge me $170 so i decided to search what is this about. Wonder if they do all that tho bleed all four wheels. I should asked them whats included
Learned something new! Thanks man
Sorry to hear about your breakup man. Good to hear your positive attitude as always! And the way you got the E60 unit to fit the E90 was really smart! Keep it up bud:)
Hey! Kind of random. Would you ever make a video on the heater hose connecting from firewall to engine?
I wish i would of watched this in FEB. Great job man.
Hello sir, I have a new batch of polishing machines recently. Would you be interested in helping me test them?
Those chickens are crazy, great to hear from you again and sorry to hear you’ve been having a tough time. Hang in there, looking forward to the next post.
Also best string for Stl weedeaters is stl, but put string in a bucket of water so it stays supple. That worked for me very well.
Hi ALEC, Mine also takes greasing at the string in . Look for the grease port.
Great! I hope it'll keep working. I inherited an old ground drill with a 2-stroke engine that only wanted to run with the throttle full open. Had no idea how these engines work, so just take literally everything apart. Which perhaps is how quite some of the "I know stuff about engines" people got their knowledge :) It turned out to be the carb. However after a year, it was bad again.
You teach us more than just repairs. Small improvements indeed are improvements! Good luck getting through this time. You'll be better. If there is anyone I trust for that due to being a very positive person, it has to be you!
Sorry about what you’re going through man but we’re always here for you and hopefully it’s for the best.
I have a bmw 325 ci 2004 model when I drive off or go up a slight hill I get a rattle can shake noise any ideas please
Good for you knowing to hit the gym, eat well, and keep working. You're going to be good, brother.
sage <3
Nice job
Hehe, something completely different, but I watched and liked it. Should you let these bad boys warm up though, or can you fully send them just after starting up?
Sorry to hear you are goin' through it. Life really piles on sometimes but I am so pleased you're continuing the routine. I'm looking forward to the ep on your mate's car - he has really sunk some dollars into it.
This is a great channel and Alec you are such a cool person, wishing you everything of the best from South Africa, Cape Town. Keep up the good work bro. Im busy slowly restoring a 97' e36 4door facelift with 175800km (109237miles) with FSH. Keep up the good work and don't stop applying your positive attitude, it helps us subscribers aswell.
I think the first step to do, is to update all CCC related modules in correct order (they have to be flashed in a certain order) to their newest software version with WinKFP, and then code the current VO (Vehicle Order) to all those modules. There is one module (the gateway module) that sometimes must not be updated because it doesn't support old style iDrive controllers and then the controller stops working, so maybe it has been updated before and that's why it does not work. It could also be incorrect programming for the current controller, as there is a setting which tells the CCC which controller you have (the setting can either be high or low, depending on the controller), which I think would cause it not to work. Not entirely sure on this one as I have never tried the other setting, but I wouldn't be surprised. It's too much steps to explain in a KZread comment, but if you want me to, I can send you a message on discord.
9:40 it's often that it doesn't show right side if logic or ask is not working properly, but also settings might be like these
Everything at home is coming along so well! John sure does rock! Im sorry about the break up. Those things are tough for sure. You will keep growing and thriving my dear friend 🙏 On the swap, I think you might also have to swap the circuit boards as well. Thats about the extent of my knowledge there 😂 So good to see you tho Alec!!
Looking forward to watching the oil pan gasket job. you have a great way of teaching us how. maybe for the e46 you could make it into sort of a tutorial for that part?
From my experience, everything happens for a reason, man. Keep gettin at it!
bruh how did bro get it for so cheap...
