Hello, I watched with interest your video on the repair of the convertible top hydraulic pump. After various diagnostics, I noticed that my hydraulic mechanism lacks power when deploying the convertible top to its storage and vice versa, which requires manual assistance. The hydraulic motor works but it lacks power. The solenoid valve displays a resistance of 9 homs but it is boiling at the end of the cycle. Can be changed the solenoid valve only and where it can be obtained as well as the O-ring pouch. Thank you for your reply.

Is there a way to bench test the pump? I hit switch and top stops 2 inches and nothing else happens I can hear lots of clicking but the pump doesn't come on and there are no codes

Antalsteve, Thanks for this post. I have a question, related to my E46 vert... As I press the button to stow roof away, the roof stops inches from windshield frame, but pump keeps humming with increasing loudness until it shuts down. It seems like pump is not strong enough. Can that be? Fluid levels ok and no visible leaks in the system. Help appreciated...

Hi! I think You must check first the valve connections and solenoids resistance on the pump valve then on the valve body. I think You have the same problem as mine, the corrosion ate the valve body soleniod connections, wires and the valve coils... when this is gone wrong oil cant go in the correct lines and pump pumping hard but happens nothing...

@@jachs7279 did you ever fix yours? I have the same problem as you are having. I'm thinking its either one of the 2 bypass valves inside the pump. There is a strong spring on both and i'm thinking the spring is worn out or the valve seats are worn out. If you pull out the valve thats next to the filler plug you will note there is some hot glue poured in there to keep people from messing with the pump pressure setting. Make sure you use a depth gauge to measure how far that spring is screwed inside before unscrewing it. The other valve has no calibration setting. I sanded my valve faces with 2000 grit sandpaper to polish them up but cannot get to the valve seats as they're recessed pretty far into the pump. I'm hoping the springs aren't worn out but the ends look like they take a lot of abuse. Haven't put it back together yet. still waiting on some small o-rings

Pretty lousy video. I cannot understand why this guy bothers to upload a video (and waste the audience time) if all we see are his hands and cleaning rag. Moreover there is no commentary with the video: what is wrong with the pump, what does he do to fix the problem and why!

Sorry. The pump hasnt got any problem but the pressure lost, wont close tthe roof. The valve body was bad.

Hi! Feltöltöd a jelölésre és utána nyitás csukás ezt addig kell ismételni amíg a szint nem változik.

why did you disassemble the pump? what was the problem at the car? Next time please place the camera somewhere else...we just see your hands...not what you are doing on the pump...anyhow it helps to understand the complete assembly.

Hi! Sorry for camera place. The solenoid valve was wrong on the pressure valve body. The pump is in good condition but the oil tank was dirty and i cant see wheres the oil level.

Sorry for it. Solenoid valve body need to be replaced.

@@antalsteve Do you mean that the electro magnetic valve was defect and you have replaced it? And what was the problem at the car? Did the roof not open?

Yes, but not here. The system has a valve body with 3 solenoid on the bottom of the roof mechanism. I need to be remove the whole roof to acces it. One of these was burned out...

Nem nyitja a fedelet kelloen ki igy a ponyva lenyitasnál beleakad a tetőnek abba a két kis kiálló rögzítőbe...es igy hogy melegebb van már rá is kell segíteni kézzel a behajtásta.
