It'll be interesting to see how this pans out over time. I get the impression German engineering mastered the art of designing something to last "just past" the warranty period. E.g. designed to "wear" in a predictable fashion - causing catastrophic failure after a predefined lifespan. Gone are the days things were built to LAST a long time - for if they did, you wouldn't need to buy another one......

Very true. With their servicing b/s always change oil twice as often as the service interval.
The engines made in China are China Market only. UK, EU and US are made in Austria, Munich and UK
german car:chinese engine,spanish headlights,italian vacuum pump and so on
Don't care how sophisticated....still operated and manned by Chinese...enough said!!

They are only build there for the Chinese market. All other engines are from Munch, Hams Hall or Steyr.

Incredible how such an effort and scrupulosity is put to produce a machine that will most likely wear out prematurely by design.
