I’m assuming from the look of the dash that it’s been very neglected 😅 try some UV protectant. Should solve 80% of these problems.

Most of these are easy to fix, but that's the BMW experience hehe

The bigger problems are under the hood. These are minor and cosmetic. Charge pipe, oil filter housing gasket, water pump, etc. are the real problems.

Great video! My 128i has the issue with radio pixels fading, especially in the hot summer heat!

My 135i has the same problem I also have the dash and my driver door cars glue rotted because Texas heat

Try window tint and cleaning your interior and sealing the plastics with interior conditioning chemicals.

Yea parking under cover helps long term, but yea euro stuff doesn't handle 10+ years of sun aswell as some others

That’s weird my EU standard e82 has pretty much none of the interior issue, other than faded air vents

Both my door actuators are bad, faded vents, a marble rolling sound I can't find, bad pixels on the odometer when hot, faded black paint, tpms malfunction, bad turbos,

Such a good looking little car personal favourite small bmw car. Ine problem on E82 125i is the leaks in the engine which is sk annoying and such a pain to find leak and fix

The 1-seriers is entry level so the young people who buy them mostly park the outside at their apartments. Adults who buy BMWs keep them in garages. I have none of the problems listed here. Think about this, at what price point do you park a European luxury auto outside? Ferrari, MB, Porsche, Lamborghini, RollsRoyce, Bently, BMW 8, 7, 6, 5, 4. 3, 2, 1, Z4? Bought my 128i from the original owner at 60k miles. It is a 2012 with iDrive (no radio issues) and it has been flawless for the 3 years I've owned it.

Love my three 128i! And you're right, those are common problems. I call it wear and tear. They will become classic collectors in another 10 years.

You park your car outside? I always garage my 2011 N55 E82. Sun will destroy so much, as well as weather conditions, tree debris, birds etc. The potential for headlight oxidation alone justifies garaging it.

well you should see mine, 2013 looks way better than yours and nothing is faded or no leather coming out

Europe - 125i E82 - 2011…….only the fade on the vents. Rest is still in perfect condition. Maybe your car was sun baked too long in its life.

exactly, I also drove an E90 M3 that had a worse interior & it was all black. My 135i was faster & has silver trim, brown leather, & no idrive

You're a fool buddy. The issues you mention are shared between the 1 and 3 series of that era as they shared so many parts. I'm sure a great 135i is as great as a 335i (without the extras!) They should be the same age and condition for a fair evaluation. Get a sun screen for your dash. Every car dash will fail under baking sun. You need to take the dash trim off and put it on starting where it's loose. You might need a clip. I'm looking a coupe if you're selling. I've a 123d, 150k.
