    That red and silver Porterfield was beautiful and flew very well. Bravo!! And the Pitts S-1 was very nice as well! Beautifully flying Piper TriPacer, and the little ducted fan jet absolutely stole the show. Just awesome models and real modelers who handcraft and build what they fly. So, so nice to see!!

    Some really great looking models, and so relaxing to watch them fly. The Nieuport 17 is such a beautiful aircraft. Nice how RC is so unnecessary as I'm guessing the rudders are in a fixed position during fight.

    Hi Lee. The Peterborough Club immediately comes to mind they hold regular indoor sessions - peterboroughmfc.org/events . You would be very welcome to go along and have a look. Last year there were regular Indoor flying events at Alfreton too but I don't have any dates for this season Also have a look at the Nottingham club www.f4bscale.co.uk/nmacdate.htm I'm not sure they have any indoor dates at the moment but strong FF club . Also have a look at Hippocketaeronautics.com in the forum section for future events

    Hi Giorgio Most of the models seen here have been designed and built by the modellers but kits are available for FF Scale models. I'm not sure where in the world you are but in the UK there is the www.vintagemodelcompany.com who offer a range of FF designs. The Pilot is an ideal starter model and will teach you some of the basics of trimming. There's more info on them on here, including building and flying tips oxfordmfc.bmfa.club/2023-group-build-vmc-pilot-20-span-rubber-free-flight/ where they the Oxford MFC club build 2023

    The little tiny plans are cool. What are these made out of? Are they powered by rubber bands?

  • @squirrelnet28

    @squirrelnet28

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Matthew. Glad you like them Some are made from Balsa wood covered in tissue paper, others are from foam. Some are powered by electric motors with timers, others with flat rubber strip ( not really rubber bands they are too small )

  • @AlexRodriguez-er1it
    @AlexRodriguez-er1it Жыл бұрын

    How are these powered and timed for flight? Are they free flight or controlled?

  • @squirrelnet28

    @squirrelnet28

    Жыл бұрын

    There is no form of external control they are all free flying. It takes some skill to trim a model to fly like that without any inputs from a pilot. Some are rubber powered so the length of the motor and number of winds dictate the motor run time . Some are electric and use a timer to set run up, power for the takeoff, power for the cruise and rundown time. The ducted fan Fury is even more sophisticated in that has a means of cutting the power to the motor once the wheels touch the ground to prevent it hitting the wall.

    @@squirrelnet28 Yes, I knew about the rubber band ones and the trim, but the other ones had me wondering! I should have phrased my question betteer. Either way it's extraordinary! What craftsmanship!
