I can't remember the last time a song gave me goosebumps. I can't believe just how incredibly beautiful the chorus is, that contrast between an upbeat, uplifting melody and the crushingly sad lyrics. This is a masterpiece.

@@matthewbest6077 It's called ironicus melodious. Barbaric means one thing, yet sounds like another.
Who blinks first? You're gonna win The fallen doves of lovers' vows In the world all around us And I'd like, if you've got the time To talk to you about what this breakup has done to me I have lost the feeling that I thought I'd never lose Now where am I going? At what cost, the feeling that I thought I'd never lose Now you can't play to every taste The powder keg of common cause All of us carry trauma And in owe of an explanation I will pour oil from the cup on the pyre of abdication You have lost The feeling that you thought you'd never lose Now wherе are you going, darling? At what cost, the feeling that you thought you'd nevеr lose And it is barbaric Empty grove, winter darkness We're taking down the scaffolds very soon Grow dappled, the lonely baubles on the plane tree The can of soup and heating up to ten Which leads me to the part Where we agreed on different dreams That we had lost the feeling that we thought we'd never lose Now where are we going? At what cost, the feeling that we thought we'd never lose It is barbaric We have lost the feeling that we thought we'd never lose Now where are we going? We have lost, the feeling that we thought we'd never lose It is barbaric, darling We have lost the feeling that we thought we'd never lose Now where are we going? No one does happy/sad like blur. Beautiful song
Brilliant joyful sadness. It’s a great song from a great album.
This sounds like the Blur I fell in love with back in the 1990s. Well done, fellas.
Blur’s new album is amazingly good. Superb songwriting

@@jonathanoneill6137 outside guitar geek circles, I would argue he is, massively so in fact. He’s as much of what makes Blur’s sound Blur’s sound as, say, Frusciante is for RHCPs. Poll 10,000 people worldwide on the best Britpop guitarist though and I bet you good money Noel Gallagher (LOL) gets namechecked miles more than the Coxons or Butlers of this world.

@@InspirationSessions I was at blur at Mile End, and before that. He was always held up as amazing by everyone, oasis where great but became a chav band as they appealed to drunk lads, and Noel Gallagher is average at best so your make believe poll would be irrelevant anyway 😀 but I see your point

"I have lost, the feeling that I thought I never lose".

The world, our body, etc change as time goes on....so it's normal to have such feelings I guess. But we can choose to have whatever mindset we wish to have in the present/coming days, before we go on to the next life : )

Terrific album, congratulations and this is easily one of the best Blur songs you've ever done 🎯🔥

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SONG! ❤️
So happy to be there absolutely beautiful and perfect performance or a beautiful song
I got into Blur through Modern Life is Rubbish and Parklife in the mid 90s. And I've been following everything everyone of them has done since then. So much brilliant music. And they keep producing and producing. Not just Damon (please check The Waeve as well and Dave's solo debut). And while later tracks like "Fool's Day" and "Under the Westway" are some of my absolute favourite Blur songs, I honestly did not think that I could be this enthusiastic about a Blur album again. It's amazing, and it keeps growing and growing on me. How can a band that has existed for 35 years release such a fresh, relevant and brilliant album? Just having bought my first record player, I even had to order the zoetrope vinyl version. I urge everyone to listen to the whole album!
