Travel pants: a term that often conjures up horrifying images of cargo pockets, velcro, and god forbid, the dreaded zip-off cargo pants/shorts combo. For a long time, it seemed like there were only two options-live in comfort at the expense of your dignity, or make do with a pair of jeans.
But times have changed! In this review we are happy to be looking at a pair of travel pants that look good, feel good, and are completely free of cargo pockets.
Bluffworks is a company that specializes in travel clothing that doesn’t look like travel clothing. They make a handful of pants, blazers, and shirts specifically designed for travel. We’ve been testing out the chino pants for about a month and a half now. They’ve seen some standard traveling and we’ve certainly found a lot to like about these “travel” pants.
The Bluffworks Chino Travel Pants are a stylish pair of pants that are great for traveling. They’ve got everything you want out of a pair of travel pants without all the stuff you don’t want. Size and fit are customizable on Bluffworks’ website, and the pants also come in a shockingly-large variety of colors. Besides being a generally solid pair of pants, these are a great option for anyone who is concerned about security during their travels. Our only complaints were the shiny and somewhat noisy nature of the polyester fabric, but if you can get past that these may just be the perfect pair of travel pants for you.

    @@PackHacker I have no idea why people are saying anything Dockers. They are trash that is just slightly above H&M and Forever 21 quality. Dockers construction and quality will last just about two months before getting holes. I don't even travel. I just use them for normal use. So, when I say slightly above H&M and Forever 21 quality, that is exactly what I mean. Dockers is owned by Levis and Levis are pretty decent and durable. So, I have no idea how Dockers are so much trash.

    Oh yea I loved these pants they just didn't fit me the way I wanted but I'm kind of short and stout. Funny, your right "pants with features". My go to pants for cool and cold weather are thunderbolt jeans. They have a 4way stretch fabric that is kind of fuzzy inside that makes them extremely comfortable, I mean like put them on and go to bed comfortable. Great video. You should pickup one of the bluffworks blazers, I'm kind of tempted, would love to get your take on them

    Is anyone making travel pants that are not designed like skinny jeans? All of them I find are cut that way. Looking for a looser fit here

    Why is the Outlier still your fave pair? You should explain. Also, what is the fit like? These seem tighter and more stretchy.

  • @PackHacker

    @PackHacker

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hey aayotechnology! For a comparison between the two, the Outlier SD's are stretchier than the Bluffworks Chinos & seem to repel dirt & moisture better after a comparison. Plus, the SD's don't have a "swishy" fabric. The Bluffworks Chinos do offer some great security features with the pockets though, and look a little more like regular chinos. The Outlier SD's look "comfortable" in the way they wear. We mention the Outlier SD's at the end of our written review here: packhacker.com/travel-gear/bluffworks/chino-tailored-fit/ Also, here's our full review on the Outlier SD's if you're interested: packhacker.com/travel-gear/outlier/slim-dungarees/ Hope this helps you!

    Tom, did you find these Bluffworks Chinos to be a bit clingy? I just got a pair and while I like the fit, the pant legs cling to my legs. It's a strange sensation and it causes them to look wrinkled. I noticed in your video how they appeared to be doing the same thing to your legs. Any thoughts?

    I'm failing to understand why these pants cost so much. They're not inventing anything new, in terms of the features found on the pants. 5.11 has been putting similar features on their pants ever since the release of the Covert Khaki, and improved them on the Covert Khaki 2.0, both of which cost a fraction of the price of these. They also have a flexible waistband, which I consider important when traveling. I'm not sure I get the logic behind their pricing, though they are otherwise great pants. Lovely review, too.

    I have not had much luck with these. I wore them once and some oil from a crepe dripped on them and after 5 washings they still remain. So much for stain resistant. I am going back to Tilley pants. My last pair lasted 5 years rather than one wearing. Customer service did nothing. Give them a pass.
