Bob's fur just could've changed as he aged. The older my dog gets, the more of his reddish brown fur shows through his coat, he's also part heeler, so maybe it's a heeler thing 🤷‍♀️

I will say, Grandpa Bob just randomly saying Gerald wasn't that weird to me. My dad does the same thing when he circles through names when he accidentally calls me my sister's name.I think it's just a dad joke about having a lot of kids.

We need more Uncle Rad! He's easily the best in regards to being an uncle. He's fun loving, but as stated, still has some standards. In Double Babysitter, I also liked how he grabbed Bluey, and held her upside down on the ceiling. But what really rounded him up as a cool uncle was when he put two and two together on why Bluey wasn't so big on babysitter put downs. Whenever he next appears in the show, and if he and Frisky have a kid together, I'd like to see them have a son. Not that there was ever a problem with the Heeler children being girls, but I'd just like to see more boys in the family. Especially since many people would mistake Bluey for a boy, when she's a girl.

Very interesting things you have gathered. If your theory is correct about Bob being a hands-off dad, then that would be very sad. It would also prove why Stripe is somewhat laidback, since it's a parent's job to push their kids. And like you said in the Fairytale review, Bandit's dedication to his daughters is likely due to his pain of feeling neglected. While we don't know for definite (yet), your points don't seem far off the mark.

im from england but here it is not uncommon to call a godparent/long close family friend as aunt. but i also agree that they eloped, or at least are engaged. i think a wedding could be interesting episode haha

Looking at Bob, I can’t help but think that the younger Bob is Bandit and his brother’s biological father. And the Bob we meet when he’s older is a different man altogether. My theory being she divorced the first because of what a clearly less than loving father he was. Then later remarried or fell for another man. So it’s his memory she keeps close to her heart.

loved getting some insight on a few aspects of aussie culture that are easy to miss as an american watcher! custard actually still exists and just released an album in 2020, "respect all lifeforms". dave mentioned in an interview about bluey that custard is really more of a hobby these days than something he focuses on, since he has his own kids to look after now. :)

In regards to Bob's markings. Maybe the spots on Bob are just age spots, people get them so i think it might just be a reference to that. Also, blue healers fur usually lightens in colour as they get older. That could explain the patches of red around bob's eye that he didn't have in his youth.

I can't believe a show ment for 6 year olds is so detailed, but I appreciate it, honestly I have it going in the background as I draw because tbh it can be enjoyed by all ages

7:07 when I first saw Rad in the trailer of season 2 I actually assumed he was meant to be the teenaged cousin of Bluey and Bingo due to his long hair

I'm so impressed with this. So much effort to put it all together and map it out for us. I love all the theories about the lesser known characters.

I have a little theory about uncle rad. Nana had a different husband when she had Rad and then she married Bob and had Bandit and Stripe. This could be explained by Rad being the oldest.

I’m 28, have no kids of my own, and have somehow ended up coming across this show thanks to my cousins’ kids and the internet. My god I LOVE this adorable and clever show. Muffin in particular is a little harbinger of chaos and I love her.

Thanks to Bandit, "Oh Biscuits" adopted into my vocab. Best dad in media.

I really like the photos in Bluey. They ad a sense of history to it, adding clues to this family’s past-what is important enough for them to memorialize. It’s also impressive that the artists went to that amount of detail. Most shows show show flowers, or a sailboat or a generic guy in the picture frames.

Bob's ear is clipped 😯 he was neutered?? Gerald is a name that they constantly use. I think it's more of an Easter egg than an actual name of a member of the family of the family. For rad, I assumed because of the coat pattern that he dyed it. How did rad and frisky not meet at bandit's wedding? I feel like they went on holiday because they got married.

​@@jar6068False memories are a rather common thing, it's very possible that from him being referenced all around the family that several members have acquired memories of him. I doubt it, but I think it'd be real cool nod to the wierd things the brain does.

I always pictured Bandit's family (minus Stripe) being staunch supporters of the Australian Labor Party (as well as Trixie and Chilli)

A bit late on this, but here goes. 3:26 I have a theory about this, at least currently. I think Gerald is a reference to Dave McCormack's first band Who's Gerald. They released a single EP on their own label and were on a couple of compilations in the late 80's. The only song I've actually managed to find here on YT is "Pins and Needles" from 1988's Youngblood compilation. So Who's Gerald? I'm pretty sure it's Bandit himself.

It's canon that the canids inside bluey get more spots and sometimes change color as they grow older. We see this with Bingo in Daddy Drop Off :)

Aussie girl margie, I know rusty has so far never been mentioned as bluey cousin in the show, but if they are revealed to be related and if bluey does get together with Jean luc, and rusty with indy then all four of them will be related.

Bluey's "How very dare you" is a part of my regular vocabulary now 😂

Grandma Chris is retired near the beach I wonder if grandpa Bob hasn't retired and also works on the oil rig/ near uncle Rad Maybe grandma wanted to be closer to her grand babies and grandpa is too stubborn to quit working and settle down away from home like chili's dad Or maybe he works on the ships and goes away for months at a time to different ports

I shipped Rad and Frisky as soon as they met, but I don't think they're married just yet. This seems like the kind of show that would make a big deal out of a wedding episode

When I was little I never thought I would be watching a video about a woman talking about cartoon dog family trees and I’m not disappointed about that

I just found your channel and I'm amazed all the stories I'm learning about this great show me and my girls love (I feel I love the show more 😊) can't wait to learn more. We're just so excited to see a new episode of season 3 everyday.

Bandit is my absolute favorite character on this show! Not only is he a funny and likeable character but he is the perfect role model for how I want to be when I become a husband and a dad. He and Chili, and I don't say this lightly, are the best parents in TV history.

I think that in the flashback, that dog was Bandit, Rad and Stripe's dad, but not necessarily grandpa Bob. If he was so neglecting of his children, perhaps Nana decided that her boys deserve better and divorced him. That would explain why both his personality and appearance changed so much in the series

Ah. Bandit is the middle child. That explains a lot

I feel like Bob's fur most likely changed as he aged since it's pretty common for dogs fur coats and patterns to sometimes change. My dogs have had changes in their fur patterns as they aged with my chihuahua's fur changes being the most visible since he used to have black markings on his face which later disappeared as he got older so Bob's red patch and stripes showing up later in life is pretty realistic

The years and dates makes everything so much clearer for some reason.

That is so cool how some of the Heeler family's voice actors are ACTUALLY RELATED!!! I never knew that!

8:57 good theory! Unless the Christmas Swim episode takes place after the sign, they didn’t get married until S3 E50.

Here's a thought that came to me when I learned about Rad's oil rigging job. His wavy fur looks like an oil slick

Also, the fact that grandpa bob was NOT at bingos birthday,or in christmas swim

Sometimes an animal's colorings can change over time as they age. Which could explain the animation inconsistencies.

I've had a German shepherd and he was the traditional black and brown with a little white. But when he got older the black hair slowly went towards his butt and had even more white. I miss the dog.

Bandit is my favorite character in the entire series. I relate to him a lot.

I feel like the ages are hard to pinpoint as they don’t express the year(s) that this takes place. We know the ages of Bluey and Bingo due to them stating it in a few episodes in addition to the birthdays. However the years could vary. If this is to take place during the year it was released, then Bandit would be around 40, Stripe would be around 38 and Rad would be around 42.

Somehow, Rad's pickup looks like a GMC Topkick by looking at how massive it is. Plus the decal on the tailgate looks like a Bluey take on the Autobot symble. This might make a theory that Rad likes Transformers. I mean, he was a teen in the 80's and Transformers came out during the 80's. Just my own head canon though. Anyways, as for favorite character from Bandit's side, it haves to be Bandit himself because he's fun. Plus, I have the middle child in my family and I do pick fun of my brother once in awhile.

I like to think that in Bandits backstory, it is his father but later on, something happens to him and Bob might have a brother named Gerald. And so Gerald is just a very close friend to nana. Even though Bingo has seen this “Gerald” with nana, she knows that it isn’t Bob and he’s not around

Of course bandit is the middle child and his dad forgot his name and probably put the least of his attention on him back when they were kids. And when nana went after him with a shoe after being blamed by his brothers I also thought that Radley was the youngest and stripe was the oldest til I looked it up a few days ago, stripe just looked the oldest to me as an adult and Radley looks the youngest probably because his Steve Harrington hair

Fun fact: The creator of the show is, as Bandit the middle child, and also has like him 2 daughteres around the same age. That means that the writer wrote Bandit to suit himself or just be an easter egg. We know that Bandit's younger borther was Stripe who is also voiced by the creator's littlebrother. We also know that the creator's vouces Bandit's mum. That means that: Banit is based on the creator so much so that his mum and his brother voice their show counterparts. And qlso means that when Stripe and Nana have a conversation when voiceacting they fit their in-life and in-show roles.

I swear this gurl makes a whole family line out of a kids show just fascinates me who has the time for that 😂✋

I love rad and frisky alot because they remind me of teen beach movie for some reason

This may be a stretch, I think Bob’s “bite mark” is supposed to note that he’s been neutered. This is usually done with stray cats, but this show is always making references to more grown-up theme, vasectomy has already been brought up. I wouldn’t be surprised if they reference it visually in some way.

My favorite family member on Bandot’s side might just be Nana because she is such a sweet grandma to all her granddaughters

I’m pretty sure friskys is married to rad as they refer to her as aunt frisky also im pretty sure she is a Saluki as her design is reminiscent of that breed and theres also a relatively popular photo of one with its “hair”(ears) up in a pony tail

The shows creator has said multiple times that he never intended this to be a kids show but a show for everyone to enjoy, and he hands down has done it! Love that it’s so special to you too ❤️
