Thanks mate. My first time posting anything on KZread. I'm normally an electric player, but my wife surprised me with a guitarlele. My cousin recorded me chilling out whilst camping during the Christmas holidays and we thought we would just post it to see what response it got. Thanks for your feedback!

@@KentSain A guitalele is tuned 5 half notes higher then a guitar, so when you want to know how to play for example: G7, go five half steps down (Gb, F, E, Eb, D) you land on D. So just Type in “ D7 chord Guitar” and play it that way on guitalele it will be a G7. For example: A on guitalele is played like E on guitar, C like G, B like F#, G like D, F like C, E like B, D like A and C like G. Also there is a Guitalele Chord chard you can find free on Google with over 100 of the most important chords for guitalele. Hope I could help ;)

@@KentSain Hi mate. Yes, the exact same chord patterns and structures as you use on a guitar, you can use on a guitarlele, in other words, play it exactly the same as you would play a guitar. The only difference is that the guitarlele is tuned to the key of A rather than E, so reiterating what soykage3757 has said, it will sound fine if you're playing by yourself, but if you're playing with a guitarist, or a recording, you'll need to transpose down five semitones.

Hi - this was recorded a while ago now but I just stumbled on it searching for 'blues guitarlele'. Very nice playing and I'd like to learn it but first I need to figure out your tuning. As far as I can tell you've tuned the A string to a G# and then tuned the rest to a (relative) 'standard' guitar tuning - is that correct? If so, any particular reason you did that? Thanks

No, not insofar as key. Guitaleles are generally tuned to A (i think that's right - guitalele enthusiasts please correct me if I'm wrong, guitalele is not my instrument of choice). But each string's pitch is the same as a standard guitar tuning, i.e. their relative pitches to each other are the same as on a guitar, but as said, tuned to A. I may not be tuned to A in the recording, i can't remember if I'd just tuned it to whatever key on the go. Hope i didn't confuse the situation further.
