I like catching them on a fly rod with a popping bug too. I live on an 18 acre lake camping and my knee quit working and was unable to put my boat in could hardly walk. Luckily the bluegill were bedding right by my campsite. Was able to catch 4 or five for dinner when I needed them. Great watching you catch these bulls. Fall fishing here in Virginia for panfish starting to pickup.

Johnson's closed faced reel has a nickname The Country Mile . 🐔 Chicken Fishing 🐔 When I was a lil boy mom would ask to go catch a chicken for supper . Being as my legs were too short to out run our leg horns I'd get my fishing pole , nail a hole in a piece of hard corn , tie my line through the hole and toss it amongst the chickens , when one swallowed it I'd pull it in .

Nice fishin’ Richard. That’s some good size fish too. Curious, in the spawn I would be looking for beds close to the banks and docks and noticed you were a good 30ft off the bank at times. Do you just try your odds on both sides of the boat? Or do you see things that key you into where they are like a stump? Makes me think I’ve been passing them up. Thanks in the advance
