What if the enemy intercepts these signals and uses them to locate friendly troops? I know in Vietnam the US had aircraft that could interrogate the IFF systems of Soviet built fighters to determine their location

+Random Videos I'm sure they have thought of this. My thought is that the system does not respond unless the interrogation is authentic. That would be just one of the measures to prevent enemies blasting random frequencies and then triangulating locations. Talking of triangulating, it would be hard for the enemy to triangulate in such a dynamic battlefield. And who knows if it is possible to triangulate. Especially if there is very advanced frequency hopping.

+Random Videos It's a directional system it only transmits when a directed LOS challenge is presented, it's about risk management the likelihood of blue on blue fire is greater than this is to be intercepted. Most tactical radios aren't encrypted either key exchange is too difficult to achieve securely and if you have both the risk of an enemy intercepting and breaking your key exchange as well as your own forces not being able to communicate to each other you rather use unecnrypted communication with other types of protection such as spread spectrum band hopping. Tactical SIGINT solutions exist but are very rare and usually aren't really used in an actual combat arena and any other type of sigint operations take too long to disseminate so they have very little to no tactical advantage.

In most of Israel's engagements, they're in close range urban environments against low tech adversaries so the risk of enemies exploiting this system is low. Against a more advanced adversary with high tech signals intelligence I could see them detecting the emission of these radio signals from the dismounted troops and using them to determine their location. Blue on blue is probably a bigger concern so I'm sure this system could save lives. The risk of enemy exploitation is probably low, but it's there.

@@RandomVideos2 The risk is not low. Hizbullah does have actual signals battalions since the 90s. Today, they even have acces to some recent russian EW tech (short range) provided through Iran cloning capabilites. The Kvant 1L222 Avtobaza comes to mind.

What if any of those vehicles equipped with this system is captured undamaged by enemy then they can see all.....?

You should try to make drones , equipped with a few dekagrams of high explosive , and a searching system that goes for certain face characteristics ( like unshaven face with a long bear ) and brain patterns ( the remanent imprint of the repetition of certain thoughts or sounds like Allah akbar etc).
