As a high school timpanist, I will say this man is a certified legend. I would love to play timpani this advanced in an ensemble. From the crocs to the camera shots this was one heck of a run and I am all in to it. Well done.

As a high school timpanist; MAD RESPECT, not only can i watch this to help my own technique but DANG is he goated. Many timpani players look like a landfill next to him. Also any timpanist in general has my respect one of the most underrated instruments. The skill it takes vs the skill people think it takes is a HUGE gap.

Found this a year later, starting to inspire me to play timpani. I’m kinda the mallets guy in our percussion. I know the most about the keyboards (which is funny cause I’ve been in percussion the shortest out of everyone else.) I’ve improved enough to start playing four mallets after starting percussion last year February or January. I would love to know more about the percussion instruments, I started taking drum set lessons and I’m part of our high school drumline. Timpani is the one instrument that I’ve been the most curious about but I just haven’t been able to be around it enough to know if I would like it as well (I probably will.)

Use chairs that what we used until we got timpani. Tuning them may be confusing but watch a video or two
