Hi, love your channel..very helpful to many beginner, however,I am a professional caster here in Vancouver B.C. I tried the XVest investment anbout 2 years ago and it is an expensive investment all on its own..YUP!!first the fast burnout can be achieved with Prestige Optima as well and it is even better..second, when casting rose golds XVest isn't recommended due to the need to quench the flask after 3....4 minutes post casting. I had some pieces cracking on me due to the delayed quenching!@not acceptable!@rapid burnout is really not as consistent as regular 8....12 hours burnout. 3rd this investment needs more of professional equipment in order to clean the castings from the investment!the majority of viewers on your channels are not really mass production professionals and this can pose a problems..like you said on your video" cleaning is as similar as cleaning an investment with boric acid ads on"" sorry..save your money and stick with your old faithful Plasticast or Prestige. This stuff is too expensive to justify the use..anyway.. Thank you for posting your videos...

I have seen some dental investments advertised for "Emergency Use" with a 45 minute burnout time. It was a while ago but I seem to recall it was very, very expensive compared to gypsum bonded investments typically used for jewelry. might be an interesting video though. I am very excited to see what XVest has in store!

Would love to see more on Rapid Burnouts across different resins. Siraya Cast Purple and Blue both handle about 4h burnouts without and loss of quality or issues caused :D

@@TurdFergusen 0-150 asap 150 90 150-730 asap 730 90 Casting temp (e.g. 500)l 60 Basically that, hour and a half at 150 to get the wax out cleanly, then ramp up to 730 for at least an hour and a half, then drop to casting temp and keep it there for at least one hour. Doesn't scale up well to huge flasks in huge kilns lol works fine for small trees in small kilns

Why did you add borax I’m assuming after you poured the metal

Thanks for your video. I do enjoy and learn alot from watching your videos. I am expirimenting with X-one resin and presently testing casts with r&r ultravest. Maybe I am not an expert, so my results have been some good, some bad. Not a consistant result I had hope for yet. Anyhow, I think I might want to try out the X-vest, maybe you thunk it could improve my castings? Also, I am gonna try using the 4" x 6" perforated flasks. Do you have the water ratio for that? Thank you.

Hey, thanks, we are glad you are able to pick up all the information we are putting out there. Although in theory the melting capabilities should make X-One compatible with Ultravest, Ultravest is still a wax specific investment. So large items may pose an issue, but it also depends on your investment mixing ratio and burnout schedule. X-Vest, Plasticast, or Prestige Optima, are resin specific investments so would help remove investment as a possible reason for the issues your experiencing. Each investment brand has their own math for their mixing ratios but there is a lot of cross over, this is R&R's: www.ransom-randolph.com/_files/ugd/cc5f22_902ad781b4e74bf3b3d55bff34f7fe6c.pdf We also have all of our investment mixing math in this digital download: clearmindcasting.com/products/lost-wax-casting-cheat-sheet-poster if your more of a visual learner we have a video lesson: clearmindcasting.com/products/lost-resin-casting

What powder did you throw on the flask after pouring and why?

Borax. Its an old habit. Something to keep the button from oxidizing to much so we can just tumble and re-melt.

@@ClearMindJewellery i cast two flasks yesterday, one flask was bluecast x-one and was bluecast x-10. program time on my kiln says 3:46 but i place the flasks straight into the preheated kiln after 1 hour bench rest. ramp rate is 8c/min so around 480c preheated temp. i think ive done it with injection wax before, with steam dewaxing before burnout, but maybe not with carved waxes

Thanks a lot for this video I am a huge fan of this black resin, especially for this brand X10 It gives great printing results And I cook the cylinder for 9 hours and the result appears beautiful, but there are some distortions on some molded pieces, small or medium pits Is it necessary to increase the cooking time? There is a note that I did not pay attention to to avoid this problem I wanted to take part in this question For others to benefit from me.
