    To add more info, all new science shows that eating more healthy fats such as avocados helps your body burn more fat and not gain weight. However, like anything if you aren't watching your processed sugar intake or intake of other processed carbs you could gain weight. It's those sugars and processed carbs that lead to unwanted weight gain, not FAT!

    I make a similar shake with kale, blueberries, nutritional yeast, alternate between spiralina and wheatgrass Juice powder, fermented coconut water, plain water, nut or seed milk for the liquid, and liquid stevia to sweeten. Often times I’ll add some fermented nut or seed yogurt I make. I generally prefer not adding avocado to my shakes.

  • @colinkelley6493

    I do something similar. Chia is way too high in phytic acid and lectins. Spinach is way way way too high in oxalic acid. I use 1/2 or 2/3 of a frozen banana, one small frozen avocado a scoop of collagen powder, and some kind of low fructose fruit, like blueberries -- and maybe some stevia. It makes an amazing smooth, creamy soft ice cream. Freezing the avocado and the fruit first, changes the texture for the better. Adding the collagen helps. And, of course, it is quite cold like ice cream which is very pleasant during the day in the summer.

  • @elizabethkrenke

    @elizabethkrenke

    6 жыл бұрын

    Alex Higuera I definitely do NOT recommend putting cooked eggs in a smoothie!!! They are best left on your plate with some sliced avocado, spinach and/or toast 👍 I do know folks who put raw eggs in smoothies for more protein, however, I don't because it frankly grosses me out a bit and feels like too much going on in one smoothie recipe. I think people can easily overload their smoothies with tons of add ins which can create a fire storm for your digestion that ultimately won't do your body good. Keep is simple! This recipe has plenty of protein for one drink but if you prefer more maybe drink this along side a cooked egg or two but not blended together.

    Hi I usually soak my chia seeds (2t) with dried fruit, oats & almond/coconut milk adding cinnamon & turmeric & ginger and eat that in the morning. If I made this at night to allow chia seeds to soak, what ratio would I use to be able to drink it smoothly the next day? Is there a health benefit difference when you choose to not soak or soak your chia seeds? Thank you!!

    Maryann Stahl soaking is a great way to digest the chia seeds more easily and get smoother smoothies. I usually soak 1/4 cup seeds to 2-3 cups water which makes quite a bit. Then use 4-5 tbsp. of the chia pudding in your morning smoothly. Cheers!

    WambleeWea Red Feather yep, just eye ball it. I use my Bullet occasionally and use 1/4 avocado 3/4 cups blueberries, a tiny bunch spinach, 1 tbsp. Chia and then enough coconut water to allow it to blend to the thickness I like which is usually 2 cups.
