training and practice...running helps alot before i started running i could hold my breath for about 1min but since i started running alot ive been able to hold my breath for 3-4 min. all in all in is a great sport that takes alot of dedication.

LandLockDiving, Those are Atlantic Cod that I speared on a ship wreck. Most people that I spoke to said they had no idea that those fish were even around these waters! Great eating!!!

Dorado are some extremely STRONG, Fighting fish, especially for their size... like Sea Bass, and Cobia... all three are sooo tasty, too -especially Smoked over Pecan wood.

Pecan brings out the sweetness in these fish, a real tasty, nutty smoked flavor - missing when smoked with the wrong woods (alder is good, but... you'll see) -just right for both Saltwater & "most" Freshwater fish, not strong or overpowering ( can't do much with Catfish except Buttermilk, Cornmeal & Flour- fried in canola or safflower oil) Try apple or cherry with Lamb, quality Ribeye & Filet Mignon. Excellent video -keep up the Cool Hobby & uploads.

Oh, I was thinking about the other gun. That gun is actually an O.ME.R Enclosed Track 130cm. The gun was sanded down and has the Blue O.ME.R camo stickers on it. That gun comes either in black or brown camo. This one was a prototype.

No, the boat took us South about 50 miles.

The 110cm gun is good for a combination of reef and bluewater. It will be light weight, maneuverable, and accurate. It will have an effective penetration range of about 13ft-15ft from the tip of the spear.

i started spearfishing about a year ago and i do see improvement but i still cant hold my breath as long as i want to...any tips on how to "exercise" breathing and gain a longer breath hold other than practicing alot.....im 16 by the way

I do not think the 5/8 bands are hard to load as compared to some of my bigger guns. The shaft also comes with a rest tab to help load.

It is small for bluewater pelagic fish, but should work for some reef fish. 90cm is the smallest size I would use for hunting pelagic fish. I prefer 115cm.

I have never been diving there before, but I know the area. You are on the E side of the sea of cortez and at the top. I have been diving off San Carlos and shot yellowtail there in May and june. I would predict that the area you will be will be good for reef fish like parrot fish, and snapper.

I love to fish but never in my life have I ever fished like this, it seems very dangerous. Gah! So many questions! When you're diving like that I imagine you get turned around a lot and I'd have the fear of shooting one of my m8s by shear vision loss due to water clearity. Also, I was kind of wondering what keeps you from catching a bigger fish and it pulling you? Not much control as far weight goes in the water. Also, what about attracting sharks?!
