Crazy how this kid who is only thirteen is already one of, if not THE best Tetris player in the world right now. Talk about a prodigy. Blue Scuti works hard, plays hard nothing but respect for him

He's really good, but not the best, and not the first. I did this same thing nearly 30 yrs ago on the gameboy version. Tetris gets really intense on the higher levels.

@@jaeden_bass it absolutely is. My point is that noone really knows if anyone has ever "broke" this game before this. It becomes luck at those higher levels, because the game moves so fast. It's not really a news worthy event.

Fun fact: Scout played scuti in an earlier round this tournament and scuti doubled his score

I went to KC Retro and it was wild watching these guys.

The fight at the end was really funny actually I love the humor of the unexpected

As someone whose first memories, are of the nes and Tetris in particular (along with many others) it makes me happy that there's a youngn who loves it as much as I do

Looking at Scuti's camera feed, are they using an Analogue Nt Mini Noir to run the game instead of an original NES? And how is the game patched for start on L18 and to get the super kill screen at L39? Is the cart reflashed?

The setup you see is done by a computer program. What the players see on their TV is the original screen. Their using a special cartridge called Tetris Gym, which has the exact mechanics as the real cartridge, but has a bunch of extra features, like the double-speed kill screen at Level 39 (which is able to be turned on and off) Also, you can start at Level 18 on the original cartridge by holding the A button while pressing start when you select Level 8 (holding A starts you 10 levels higher than the level you select, so you can start at up to 19. The Tetris Gym cartridge has an option to start on 29)

You can start on Level 18 on a stock NES Tetris cart by holding the A button while starting a game. This adds ten levels to your selection. We used analogue systems for this regional due to our HD redrawing software not being available. The NT system outputs analog signals to a CRT and HD signals to the PC for high quality streaming.

@@MrOpz CTWC Championship carts allow players to input an RNG seed. Both players enter the same seed and receive the same piece sequence.
