My parents divorced when I was 3 and I was stuck with my mom. My dad was changing jobs over and over again. We could only talk on skype and for about 2 week a yer in person when he gets his vacation time. He lives in Alberta and works mostly at the oil sands. We'd travel Canada in his car and listen to Blue Rodeo all day on these trips. I'm 13 now and these songs are about the only thing that makes me feel close to him when hes far. This is his favourite song. This song makes me cry every time.

Beautiful story. My parents were never together, this song always made me long for a world where we all ran away together. Solo just bottled up so much of my pain as a kid. After moving outwest a few years ago, my fiancee and I found a happier meaning to it, and it will now be our wedding song.

Real Canadian, alright. To me it sounds particularly Saskatchewan-ey. I really like it. When I hear it I think of lonely stretches of road, grain elevators, an old train track spur that gradually bevels into dry grass and sandy earth. Breezy, nice, sun through milked-out sky and a night coming that can freeze your butt off even in Spring!

One important lyrical note- it's not "Sometimes the world begins to set you up on your feet again" followed by "No one wipes the tears from your eyes." It's "Oh, it wipes the tears from your eyes." Feels like a pretty big difference. Love the video though, thank you.

♥✞♥An excellent woman [one who is spiritual, capable, intelligent, and virtuous], who is he who can find her? Her value is more precious than jewels and her worth is far above rubies or pearls. The heart of her husband trusts in her [with secure confidence], And he will have no lack of gain. She comforts, encourages, and does him only good and not evil All the days of her life.♥✞♥✞♥
Liked and shared,you rock!! 💥🤘💥

Nice touch on piano.
My fave blue rodeo tune
LOVES THIS SONGGG
I luv this song
One important lyrical note- it's not "Sometimes the world begins to set you up on your feet again" followed by "No one wipes the tears from your eyes." It's "Oh, it wipes the tears from your eyes." Feels like a pretty big difference. Love the video though, thank you.
Blue rodeo great band.

And miss the guitar solo ? You are absolutely right. Simply awesome.
Is it me or does the guitar solo towards the end kinda sound like the guitar solo on jethro tull's aqualung? They are defiantly in the same octave range? Can someone with musical training please endorse or enlighten me? Thanks
@cmgeroni84 did you make it to the guit box solo?
Right on Friend ,or should I say ride on cowboy? Thanks.
Yeah I have a request. Can you find Murray McLachlan's Gulliver's Taxi album?? I can't find it anywhere. Thank's for posting Five Days!! I LOVE that song!! Is there a better guitar solo in the history of Canadian music?? I think not. It's absolutely WICKED live! Peace everyone.
RIP James Gray
does anyone have any song requests by the way?
This tune is on a par with Tangled Up In Blue
