what else is new on this stupid dildo rocket? if 100km (the karman line) is your goal thats not space and just an overpriced rollercoaster.
the commentary lady is a little insufferable, but cool launch and landings
very cool! does anybody know if BO has near term plans to ramp this up? more launches, maybe a few more rockets? it's about time, isn't it? does anybody have some insights?

Smarter bllionaires will likely wait to see a few more successful flights before buying a ticket.
Why does the liftoff take 7 seconds to actually liftoff. Isn't it supposed to liftoff at 1 sec?
Two out of three aint bad
I was just thinking of Ed Dwight a couple weeks ago..... thinking he had died. Betw Him, the female Mercury candidate, and William Shatner, my opinion on Bezos has improved a bit.

@@SciNewsRo he was so happy when he got out of the capsule! heart warming moment. NS should finally start to launch more! use it to generate donations and pay the bill from 2-3 rich people and bring 2-3 selected people along the ride. how about send an invite to several influencial flat earthers and take one up too?
2 of 3 chutes have opened, and actually this is 'according to plans'. go figure..... much as with horse shoes.

They are just saying it’s not according to plan. Which it isn’t.

i'd say the third chute still helped though? just not as much as it should. i hope they don't delay over this relatively minor problem. to my knowledge they still have other backup system/chutes.

At least it didn't blow up.

It's called redundancy. The New Shepard is designed to land with only 2 parachutes if one chute fails. So in that sense it was planned. The redundancy was planned.
Way to test efficaciousness of only two parachutes: put only two parachutes on board. Simple ideas for the simple-minded.

There were clearly three parachutes that deployed, but one did not fully open. The capsule is designed to land with only 2 parachutes.

@@michaeldeierhoi4096 Yep, but I'd not want to be on-board when one parachute fails, that's a f cking hard landing that caused injury to the passengers. If twas ME, I'd demand a refund!

@@LordDustinDeWynd I'm also surprised it also doesn't have an inflatable ring at the base which I think it's the Orion capsule that does. It's a joy ride for the rich. Nothing more.
I prefer the landing with space x

They land the booster in the dirt and the capsule has no retro rockets for touch down?Even the Russians use retro rockets on their tank drops and other heavy equipment. 🤭

Retro rocket is the cause of that big cloud of dust prior to to touchdown, referred to as 'air cushioning system'.

There are supposed to be retro rockets to cushion the landing, but despite that, it looked hard to me.

@@dblake3806 Astronaut Ed Dwight was on NS 25. He's 90 years old. Just watched a video of him exiting the capsule, on his feet, unassisted and interviewed at the landing site. Seems the retro rockets performed better than you realize.
