My youngest son was in a very dark place the past couple years and I played this for him, it quickly became “our song”. I remember all too well those moments when he was too consumed by the demons in his then 11-12 year old head to go to school, or even leave his darkened room. I’d play this and would see a glimmer of hope in his beautiful tear filled eyes. As a mom it killed me to see him in so much pain, but seeing the hope deep down inside him when I played this song gave me a glimmer of hope in the darkest of days and kept me strong for him.

My dad showed me this when I was 9 or 10 and we listened to it everyday for a while and then we stopped. I didn’t hear it for about 4 years and when it started playing in the car today it brought back a ton of memories.

I saw Blue October in Yokoska, Japan. They came out and played a free show on base for us. My first tome seeing them live and they played alot of Approaching Normal songs, including this, mixed in 18th floor balcony, Into the ocean and Hate me. I found my soul in Justins lyrics and have been a huge fan ever since.

My dad met my mom when i was 3 i quickly became so close to him im now gonna be 17 I left to move in with my friend's when i was 15 i havent heard from him in 2 years after his heart attaks he gave up im sure hes still out there but this was one of our songs I love you dad 🤧😪😥😞

Blue October is the soundtrack to my life which is addled by severe depression and anxiety. Their music has made me feel like SOMEBODY understands when I was at my most alone.

I went to Blue October's concert in Spokane and I was hoping they would play this song (they didn't) , but they did play "Balance Beam" and "The Getting Over it Part" which are now 2 of my favorite song by them!! :) Love you Blue October

I dedicated this song to my kids when I first heard it on a kids channel. Life truly is like a jump rope and it gets hard and unbearable sometimes but it will pass. Even as an adult i feel overwhelmed sometimes and there are tiny moments of giving up, but no I have to surpass whatever those hard obstacles are being presented. Life sucks sometimes, but life is also so BEAUTIFUL and I am bless to have another day!

I struggle with anxiety and depression and have for years. My husband played this song for me a few years ago and it still brings tears to my eyes. He may not be the most romantic in his words, but he always knows the perfect song to play for me

It really makes me smile to hear a song from them that has a positive message...most of there stuff I relate to all to well with because of the pain and depression involved in it. It's like a best friend going through the same crap as you turning around to tell you "shit sucks, but it'll be okay"

I've been through some really hard times lately,and this song says it best! Things will get better and... listen to the lyrics. Positive song, written by someone with bipolar disorder.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this song! I like how they can do a bit lighter stuff sometimes, along with their HEAVY magical stuff as well. Justin is so dark n' dreamy, I need to comfort hug him bad. He's so intense n' dark he stole my heart. And that GD voice of his. WOW.

She got to see them live at a all ages show in a park in vegas when we went up that way a few years back. Good times. Nothing like being on playground and swings then jam out to live jump rope song with kiddo on my shoulders. :)
