Yeah, this is definitely where I am. He's done enough to show he can stabilise the club but there needs to be changes above - quite who that'll be and how good they'll be is a whole other matter.

Dyche has done a unbelievable job. Its funny when people are talking about him "changing it up" With what? Chermiti Dobbin Keane. Our players are functional there are no Artetas Pienaars. There is very little skill. Thats not Dyche. Thats facts. Give him better players.

Of course we do, he’s factually punched above his weight however you want to slice it. Finished 17th and then spent 3 million and lost key players while managers of teams around us have all been backed with 50-100+ million except Luton, even Sheff U spent around 60 odd million. Dyche got Burnley into Europe while averaging only 750k a season on transfer fee’s and his successor has spent over 100 mil just to go straight back down a division, plays the right way though Kompany… 🤦‍♂️

I agree. If you’d asked me after Chelsea I’d have said not a chance, and it might seem fickle to change my mind after a good three game run - but to pick the team up after that mauling to get 9 points in three tough games shows he can make things work. Been an impossible job this season and Everton have stayed up with games to spare. So it’s a yes from me (also, I’m not arsed about style of play - think Dave said the same - so long as it gets results, which it has on more occasions than not this season)

@@TheBlueRoomEFC Fair enough, I worry sometimes the school of Science makes some Evertonians live in fantasy land. As one who was present in the 6ps and 70s, I remember games when we dug in and were not pretty but got the result. The only good football in my view is winning. I go to see a my team win if it's a great game it a bonus. But when you win you don't really care and you don't remember the game. When you win a game like the derby on Wednesday you remember the game too. Of the thousands of games I've watched I could tell you the result not how well we played.

We did not win a match for the almost four months and people were considering he had to go. My question is this - (ignoring the current feeling of elation of winning and now being safe) What did he change in those matches, tactically, technically, personnel wise, that turned it all around, that we should now give him another year. Did we swap to back three, did he bring people into the team for reasons other than enforced through injury or suspensions etc, did he introduce new patterns of play? Because, I think people and himself, are only half joking when they say the biggest difference is he wore a tracksuit.

You start off by saying winning the first game of the week creates a momentum, if we lost the posture changes. What do you think happens when you get 10 points deducted with more to come.no hope of changing underperforming players. He has to stick with his plan, stay loyal to the players he thinks that will have the bollocks to stand up when needed. He’s don’t unbelievably well. If if he gets a few milli as in Burnley he’ll improve next season. Got t be his players. Evertowi need to play roug for a few more seasons. Clean sheets, shit wins until off field is sorted.

Still can’t believe after all this time that people don’t realise if you want more than boring football then you need more than boring players. Just look at our “attack” DCL is basically a high jumper who grafts and is a handful but can’t finish or beat a man. Our wide men are one footed and lack the pace to even trouble a fullback so they’re basically wingbacks. Then there’s our number 10 who is the least technical 10 I’ve seen in my life falling over the ball etc, oh and don’t forget our fullbacks and how poor they are on the ball. We’re basically a squad of defensive minded players

There's some merit in what you say. But thats not down to Dyche. Its one the qualities I like about him he never blames his tools and always talks his players up and just gets on with it. This is probably one our most historic seasons for all the wrong reason and this man guide us through it and I just think at this point in time it's wrong to questioning his position. We should be praising him for his and his coaching staffs achievement. We still in the PREMIERSHIP.

What a terrible headline 🙈 Reality vs expectations from some Everton fans is off the charts. We have no money, we sell to survive, our revenue is now one of the lowest in the league but some people demand better football? If you demand better football then demand a better run football club. The reality is it’s about survival at the moment. It’s a shame some of this hatred for Dyche wasn’t directed towards Kenwright and moshiri over the years for putting us in this mess in the first place. We are lucky to have Dyche in this situation, that’s the reality, never lose sight of that

I agree, but it’s a divisive topic that makes for a good discussion. For me, doesn’t matter how the team plays so long at the team gets results - do that more often than not and I don’t see how anyone can really have an issue. But that bad run can’t be overlooked. Nor can the fact that it’s an incredible achievement to be safe with three games to spare given the points deductions and the state of the squad.
