Blue Flames and Sulfur Mining at Kawah Ijen, Indonesia [Amazing Places 4K]

The Kawah Ijen Volcano is world famous for its blue flames and sulfur mining. It is located on Eastern Java, Indonesia. The blue flames are caused by sulfur gases burning in the atmosphere with electric blue light visible at night. The gasses condense on the surface into sulfur which is manually removed and carried away by the miners. The crater lake of the volcano is one kilometer wide and is the world's largest highly acidic lake (0.5 pH).
Recorded April 2016 in 4K (Ultra HD) with Sony AX100 and Sony A6300.

Blue frames are very impressed. It is amazing that Blue frames is related to sulfur. The crater is huge. I saw the scene of collecting sulfur from TV before and the Indonesian people are great. Thanks to you, I saw a good scene.

Mesmerised once again, Milos. It brought back sweet memories of how beautiful this place was when I visited years ago. But also sadness to see the men working under such harsh condition carrying very heavy loads of sulphur every day.

But it's the most good way to mine in this crater. What do you want? Mine using machines and trucks? Come on.. it will destroy the natural landscapes there. The thing that the government can do at least give them proper stairs. And some rest area Sometimes, what u look n feel is not always what u look and feel.
