LotusDecember I liked it until someone pointed out that, as people didn’t wear knickers/panties back then, with her bloomers being tucked in she basically would be flashing everyone wherever she went 😰🙈 no wonder the other villagers called her a “funny girl” lol

All of these are incredible, but I get CHILLS, no joke, EVERY time I see the 2015 Cinderella dress. It will always be one of my favorites, if not my favorite, dress in a movie of ALL TIME, no question. Plus I kind of make it special to myself because I went to see that for my birthday when it came out, and I love it the best of the Disney remakes AND I have a newfound love for Cinderella because of the fact that she was an abuse victim and found a way to get out of it.

I love your comment. I had been extremely down on my luck when this movie came out. My aunt & cousin kind do saved me from a homeless shelter, I was sleeping on my aunts floor but I was safe. Money was tight but my cousin was going to are my nieces to this movie no matter what. And magically I got to go as well. It was a surprise for me as I hadn't even any clue a new one was out. I cried. It was just so flipping fabulous. And getting to see it with family I hadn't seen in a long time with my beautiful nieces while they were children . . . just. . . .words can't describe how magnificent. It's a connection to my past, being a little girl, then my present time, it connected me to family & in many ways my future because things started to get better, slowly. now I live in a nice place💕🌺 (thank you for reading my essay) many blessings everybody

Yeah, like modern dresses are just pieces of fabric with holes cut in them and slightly fitted, whereas the period piece dresses felt like they were actually MADE to show off.

Would you consider looking into the costume design of the movie Devdas. It’s from Bollywood but for someone that hadn’t been exposed to Indian culture, I think it was the costume design what left me speechless. the clothes were mesmerizing. Plus Aishwarya rai Bachchan it’s just gorgeous.

I adore the costuming for the movie! (I didn't like SRK's suit though, the story is meant to take place in 1917 and he's wearing a very modern looking suit, also the movie was way too long but the songs and set were amazing)

@@ajpristine4809 it's based on the indian novel devdas and is it is a love story, personally plot wise they trashed devdas and made it very extra, the older movie is better in terms of plot but the devdas she mentioned is definitely something really pretty to watch the set and costumes were beautiful, and would recommend it if you'd like to watch something bollywood.

You should check out Jodhaa Akbar if you want to see a period piece with pretty costume design and Aishwarya Rai as the lead, it's a much better film than Devdas imho. In fact almost any period piece from India with women in prominent roles is going to have great costume design, it's kind of expected. If the Oscars weren't so west-centric I'm sure India would have bagged a ton of Oscars by now in that category alone. I grew up with Bollywood so I'm a little more able to digest melodrama and over-the-top theatrics but Devdas was too much even for me. Jodhaa Akbar and Parineeta are my go-to period pieces instead, they aren't difficult to watch the way I find Devdas is.

Blue is an easier color to wear. REd takes a bit of courage and gumption to wear. I always love a blue dress. In fact, I have most of my evening wear in blue. Just a few pieces in red.

Blue dresses hold a special place in my heart (and my closet). Everytime I go shopping for a party or an event I find myself going back to blue. It's the color of everything beautiful to me.. the sea, the sky, the eyes of my first love..

The cool thing about Diana’s dress is that it’s based off of an outfit Lynda Carter wore in the original Wonder Woman series.

What I've learned: put Kirsten Dunst in blue. And gingers.

You've always loved all the costumes in most movies because they're so gorgeous, the epitome of Hollywood glamour in this modern age. Now here they are, all in one place, where you can feast your eyes on them any time you wish. Also, goddamn, Bollywood can outdo Hollywood any day.

Wearing something similar to Aishwarya’s blue Bengali sari from Devdas is on my bucket list. ❤️ Devdas sparked my interest in Bengali saris and jewelry.

Even if it's super close, a generalized size is never going to fit exactly right, so your best bet is either making your own clothing (I REALLY need to practice myself, but with practice, it is possible, and more cost effective.) or getting a tailer. If you find something you love, a lot of times you can just get the size closest to yours and have a tailer make it perfect for you. Sometimes trailers are really expensive, but I'm sure you can find a good one that's not so expensive.

She sort of does this in the beginning of the video where she rips apart Watson's dress to help explain that the yellow dress is even worse because it is in a movie with such a generally fantastic costume design.

You can never go wrong with blue, it's a color that everyone regardless of their skin tone can wear, and it can look super pretty without being overpowering.

i love the fact that you don’t JUST focus on America’s movies, but also movies in other cultures like how you put the dress in House of Flying Daggers, which by the way is a great movie!

Amazing compilation, as always! I kind of wish these videos would've gone on forever with metallics, multicolored dresses, etc. They're so well researched and executed. Anyway I think that Sara Paxton's blue multipurposed t-shirt dress in Aquamarine would've been a cool addition as well. Even though it was pretty plain, the way she rearranged the sleeves to become different dresses everyday was iconic!
