Blue Bossa [new!] (bassless backing track)

A new & improved backing track for Blue Bossa. N.B. There's a 4-bar percussion intro before the head starts!
We've put this into a Cuban Montuno style which we really like. Hope you do too!

So great. Best salsa rhythm track I have found anywhere for tumbao across changes. Wish I could have this without the chords for general use.

@@basslessbackingtracks That would be great. It doesn't have to be a particular track/song. Bass players can practice bass tumbao (playing only on the "and of 2" and then anticipating the root of the next measure's chord on "4") on changes with just a rhythm track. That would be like a drum machine pattern with tempo adjustment that could be applied to any swing chart. And of course it would work on the changes of any salsa tune. Now that I have listened to the beginning of this track more carefully I realize that the most authentic part is the piano montuno, but of course that part has to be specific to the chords of a given song. The other parts not so much. All that is needed for what I am talking about is: 1.) the conga tumbao pattern, 2.) the cascara pattern that is struck on the side of the timbales, and 3.) one of the 3 clave patterns (on claves). This would be either 2-3 (Puerto Rican) clave, 3-2 (Cuban) clave, or rumba clave (variation of 3-2 that lands on the "and of 4"). One rhythm track for each clave pattern; don't mix them up. I would be happy to pay for someone to build me these tracks, because it is just a pain for me to figure how to program them on an electronic or online drum machine. We could DM if you want more details. It is interesting you guys did this, because as Nolyn Falcon pointed out below, this is no kind of Brazilian beat, it is salsa, i.e., clave-based, even though the clave sound is not doing a proper clave pattern. But it works for this bossa nova tune in the same way that it would work playing salsa bass tumbao against any jazz swing tune's changes, and swing is related to salsa much more distantly than Brazilian rhythms like sambas or bossa nova. BTW, such salsa rhythm tracks would allow piano players to practice montuno patterns to fit any swing chart changes at any tempo as well.

It's normally bossa nova bass, but you can do either.

Not really a bossa, but fun nonetheless.
