Hiking and hunting the hills and volcanoes of Central America in the 80’s and 90’s gave Amós Rodriguez a foundation for his ancestral skills life’s practice. Growing up in the context of the U.S. financed civil war in El Salvador increased his urban and wilderness survival and awareness skills; both of which are essential for striving in our modern society.
During the post-war period, Amós assisted rural communities devastated by the violence. These experiences increased his humanism and highlighted the need to be an advocate for secured and regenerative communities.
Amós has been perfecting his craft as a hunter and ancestral skills practitioner over the years. He is a humanist, an artist, and a guide. His life intention is to build a better future for the next seven generations.

It's nice you can produce your own videos now. I have been wondering where you've been? I watched Greg today make a blackberry pie in the bush. Always fun to watch you both. That's a great technique how to open the bamboo and glue it back together with the resin. I thought you were going to burn it out with a hot metal rod. I couldn't see how you put the feather on the antler point. You did it too fast. I hope now we can see more to come soon.
I didn't know we could grow bamboo in Indiana except for inside !! That's so cool . Congratulations on your new adventure. Take care and stay safe my friend!

Blowdarts are great fun, highly recommend. A cheap hardware store build, a 1/2 in polypropylene sprinkler riser, long as you want, a 1/2 to 1 inch adaptor to fit your pipe, a 1m length of U or V channel ali. Mouthpiece to your pipe, cabletie your ali to the pipe for rigidity, bam. Ammo, small nails, poked into cones made of tape. We used to play with a dart board, but it was 'roll your own' ammo. A selection of tapes, nails, glues, regular darts rules, but from way further back. Good fun!
I have modern blowguns… but I have taken rabbits, squirrels and a few grouse over my 63 years with a blowgun. Awesome project!

thanks, thats a long time using them. I think with the fur fletching I put in the darts it can be a good hunting weapon, but for fishing I need to do a bit more homework :/

I agree, nothing against Zack, personally, his ADD has him all over the place, but not accomplishing a lot in a timely fashion. I've spent more time on build-up videos, than the actual video. Always waiting weeks+ for the next video. Amos' way of being is so much for calmer, than Zack's phonetic energy.

Ive been talking to Greg about an adventure...
I read a strange story about contact with the last surviving of members of a tribe in Brazil. They came to some men logging and asked them for fire. The loggers gave them coals from their campfire, after lighting their torch, they left. It's believed they were the only two members of their tribe that still existed. Anthropologists are still looking for them. one is believed to have died after wandering into a camp, very sick. I am certain the story of Prometheus is seminal in the history of mankind., we should be called fire bringers upon earth. Well done Amos.
Amos I found your channel by watching Greg Evans channel. I'm that great 30 day y'all get together. I'm really excited about you not giving up. Please keep bringing us videos. They don't need to be flashy. We just like to watch how talented you are such a great attitude, keep them coming, bud👍

I have never been to this channel, but, this is the first video I have seen of it, and I love it. I am an avid blowgun fan, have been a long time. Blowgun content is rare, and I love seeing new videos about it. It is why your video made it to my feed, I imagine. I have had all of the commercially available blowguns, except for the black rhino blowguns. They aren't as strong as I'd like them to be, but their darts are superior. I'm playing with a 6 foot aluminum tube I got, with a .625 bore. I love the additional compression time those 2 extra feet give. I also loved the part where you found dinner. That slayed me! Hope to see more blowguns, I just finished setting up my fishing blowgun, so I'm eager to see yours!! Mine is neat for a modern contraption, but I'm eager to make my own. Keep up the great work!

I definitely plan on either building one for my son or buying one for him when he comes of age. Ive always wanted to make a Cherokee style blowgun out of rivercane. You can punch out the nodes with another smaller piece of rivercane when the cane is still very green. Then use some sand/dirt and sand the inside of it with another cane. Sadly bamboo and bamboo/cane hybrids have taken over most of the areas where rivercane used to grow.
I'm a new subscriber to your channel. Been watching Greg Ovens videos. Can't wait to watch yours.
