The Shah was placed in power by the CIA and the hardliner nationalist Mossadegh, whose intention was to nationalize the Iranian oil, was placed in prison! So long as the Shah did as he was told, he continued to "rule"! Once the Shah started criticizing the West, it was time to bring along another traitor called Khomeini! These mullahs are wholly obedient to their CIA bosses! Of course, all obedience takes place behind closed doors! In public, the mullahs condemn the West for everything! In private, the mullahs do EXACTLY as instructed!!! The Shah was against having a war with Iraq!!! Khomeini was placed in power, and within a year or two, the 9-year-long war with Iraq began!!!! To both of you, how do you explain ISIS, Al Qaeda, the Taliban and the Wahhabi fundamentalists supporting and being involved in terrorism? _ALL_ religions have 'holy' wars where they kill people to 'save' them, what kind of f***d up logic is that except for having people who believe/submit and suspend morality to defend or promote their 'faith'? I know quite a few Muslims and many Christians who suspend their religious beliefs in order to live a moral life because to live by their religions morality would make them immoral by any humanistic understanding of morality.

Especially after watching this clip and seeing evidence of the US governments involvement in causing a civil war in a country that has caused the deaths of millions of people.... Even the term wahabi is a stupid rhetoric that doesn't even exist for a group of people. How about learning Islam? And not concern yourself with the actions and practices of people. And you will come to know that the highest level of ethics and morality is in Islam.

My 73-year-old Iranian-born father has always losthed Eisenhower and Truman. I once asked him why and he told me about this event. I read a very interesting book that discusses the CIA involvement in taking out Mossadegh called “confessions of an economic hitman” by John Perkins.

Javaking, they are not "letting out the truth" , they are just stating bog standard history that you will find in any school history book. This is common knowledge accepted by everyone. The British Government , the US and British Petroleum (BP) were all in on the coup.

Khomeini wanted Mossadegh out of office. Mossadegh was a secularist, the Shia clergy didn't like him and Khomeinists don't remember him fondly.

The USA in the past have meddled too much in other countries political affairs with grievous adverse effects. Let us hope that they learn their lessons and stop doing such things. They must realise that they can not foretell the outcome of revolutions and never artificially orchestrate them.

During the early 1950s Shah had a lot of problems and nearly lost the throne ,if it was not for MI6 and CIA Who reinstalled him in 1953. Mossadeq never got the chance to govern the country ,as the Shah's pride , narcissistic mentality , selfishness and mastermind attitude ,could not put up with a patriot such as him.

even though it's a retelling but, obviously, not a documentary: the 'storyboard-style' opening sequence of the film, *"Argo,"* explains well, the socio-political climate of the ousting of the democratically elected Iranian president..it actually does a very good job of explaining to/teaching movie-watchers what really happened..and, dare i say, in an entertaining but also in an effective way..the film, too, in its storytelling (again, considering it wasn't a documentary), it was very well done..and it was an esp., good history lessons for us Americans.. because we got told all kinds of things about it as kids and young adults - nearly all of which was wrong..just sayin' because never were we taught most of the truth. 🤓
