BLOSUM matrix
This video contains an overview about BLOSUM matrix and how to construct a BLOSUM matrix for calculating the score of the sequence alignment when we study sequence comparisons. BLOSUM matrix is commonly used matrix (like PAM matrix) in the field of bioinformatics mainly in sequence analysis. BLOSUM matrix was first developed by Dayhoff and Dayhoff. Default matrix for protein blast is BLOSUM 62. BLOSUM matrix are mainly used in protein blast where local alignment is performed.

3:11 - 3:32 Why is it that the two A's in the first column means A can be substituted only one time, but the five A's in the second column means A can be substituted 10 times? How does that work?
