Oh my god this video is absolutely stunning yet so heartbreaking! Becoming an alicorn must be so hard for Twilight knowing that her friends will pass on and the Princess of Friendship's companions will become a memory some day. Having to watch your friends eventually die one by one is just so depressing, it's completely understandable that harmful tendencies will arise that could break her spirit. You did a beautiful job at showing the mane six and their relationship with each other while hitting exactly where it hurts.

@@BeanKally They should've, but Celestia was probably desperate to have the next princess since Sunset Shimmer failed her, Twilight just happen to be the best student in the Magic school and Celestia saw the potential she had, I do believe that Twilight didn't even had a choice to reject Celestia's offering, she just let it happen and here we are with Princess Twilight.

I understood everything, for those who did not understand the ending, how Twilight became a unicorn with wings- (I don't remember the name) Unicorns with wings live longer than any pony, and Twilight's friends died over time, and twilight was left alone, the worst thing is that this is canon and it is very sad 1k likes I don't have nothing more to do in my life

Poor twilight. She has to endure living forever, without her friends living it with her.

I never wished for this ending. Lauren Faust promised us and all of her dedicated fans of the show, that Twilight will not outlive her friends. But that was all a lie, and I still feel betrayed to this day. Still a good animation though keep up the good work! Edit: I thank everyone for giving their own thoughts on this. I'm not the best at accepting stuff but moving away from a show I've been over attached too for so long takes a lot of energy from me. I don't have much hope in G5 but maybe the next generation after it will be better? The comments are wilding all of you need to chill you literally didn't have to respond to my comment at all.

@@pgakt I wish someone told me that sooner after the series ended. A lot of analysis vids did not help me cope with this ending either. However it's been years and I cannot seem to forgive what has happened whether she was forced to make that ending or not. I will find time to heal and maybe move on from this.

Immortal Twilight is an underrated genre

Love this so much! The concept kinda freaked me out even as a kid. The literal princess of friendship watching her friends, new and old, age and die without her.

By becoming the princess of friendship she’s cursed to lose all the friends she makes

THANK FUCKING FULLY THIS IS (probably) THE CANON ENDING OF THE MANE 6 It is very very very likely that they went away all together, but i’m saying that mostly over some pages of the comics that show all the pony racism things and that they were not so old by that time. So it is a BIG possibility.

I was on vacation and saw my little cousin watching old mlp and I sat down with her to watch it. The nostalgia was unreal I miss being little 😭

I love the part where she becomes an alicorn, and the heartbreak tears. Awesome job! The subtle glitch effect on the loop really adds to it as well.

Well, Luna didn't die. All of Twi's friends would die at different times, making it that much worse.

It must be so hard for twilight because the fact that being an Alicorn makes you technically immortal (not really) and her friends will eventually pass away at that point. When I was little, I thought she still has the same lifespan as her friends but now since I'm 15 now I know that they don't.

Yes they do. One director of MLP said some time ago Twilight would live the same amout of time as her friends. If she were immortal she would appear in the new MLP.

In the show mlp Twilight sparkle the purple pony turns into a alicorn. And so basically now she's immortal but her friends aren't, so over time they pass away and she has to suffer from sadness of their loss.
