I’m pretty sure Fluttershy was always depressed or had anxiety in the show, we just didn’t realize it as kids because we didn’t know what those meant or that they existed. And now knowing the truth it saddens me. Plus it explains why she loved animals so much, they were the highlight of her life and didn’t judge her. I really hope she finds her way out of that dark sad depressing cave🖤💧

I think it isn't that. I think perhaps Rainbow is tired of Fluttershy asking her that. When someone expects you to not need or love them as much as you do and they are hard to convince otherwise, it can be frustrating or painful. I see it as Rainbow is frustrated because she doesn't understand why Fluttershy thinks she would get tired of her.

We did this as well, but the issue was my friends where super toxic. My friends told me I was applejack cause twilight 'was the main character, and I'm a bit dumb for that' and soon one of my friends changed to twilight. I asked if I could be rainbow dash, cause I considered myself EXTREMELY loyal (in fact I was just staying quite about my friends making me cry) and they said I was too slow, annoying, and didn't have any likable traits. Still love mlp though

Y'all might think that I'm a baby, but I always cry watching any of the "cut my hair" animations. T-T The sad thing is that my sister did this to herself due to a breakup, and I was so scared all the time for her, she was the older sister, so I always looked up to her, but when she started to cut her hair, I started to cry. I’d love a MLP gen where we have some openly LGBTQ+ characters, Some Characters with problems going on in life, somewhat better music, dont get me wrong some, SOME music is good in the series but I want some- idk what I am saying anymore aa, anyway, a more Teenager MLP would be great. GUYS GUYS GUYS I don't even try to ship them, i just want show this situation, when Fluttershy is just sad about she can't be more stronger like Dash (her friend from childhood, who is giving her chance and help, it's important) and it's really hard for her. Fluttershy afraid that she not even for a little bit change from this days when she was a filly and she just afraid to stay like that forever, afraid that her friends will tired of her when she tired from herself. She is just AFRAID. That's a point. If you ship them than cool, if you not it's cool too. It's your choice, i don't try to show you their relationships in one and only true way.

I've struggled with anxiety pretty much my whole life. I had really long hair for a while then trimmed it to shoulder length. I would hide behind my mop and curl up on myself frequently. One day I decided to just cut it all off and get a short pixie cut. I almost cried, but after I got my hair cut my anxiety lessened. My inability to shroud myself in my hair made me feel more present in situations and I felt a lot more attractive. Now I have anxious dreams about my hair being long again and all the nasty feelings that were from that point in highschool. I love my short hair.

Damn. So a story for you. I use to have long hair. As a kid, my hair went past my booty. It was a hassle to keep up with, so it was cut below my shoulders and I kept it that way for years. As I got a little older middle / high, I started getting it cut shorter and shorter. It made me feel good. And then things went downhill. My sister misarroed eight months into her pregnancy and I began to take out my emotions on my hair. I had my heart broken by a scumbag when I was just freshly 19 and it was devastating for me. That's when I began cutting my hair into Mohawks and eventually fohawks. Occasionally I look back on those pictures, and I can see the hurt, the pain, the emotion. I'm now 24 and I'm with the love of my life. Slowly my hair has begun to lengthen. It's taken me years to grow it, even tho it's only a bit past my shoulders. Reading your story suprised me. Our contrast on hair. The longer your hair was, the more you were in an emotionally chaotic state but as for me, the shorter mine was, the more mental and emotional pain I was enduring. Here's to us, and to moving forward.

Hair really reflects emotions, and I think changing how it looks gives people control over something when they feel like they have control over nothing else. And changing your hair is one of the easiest and safest ways to change your own mental image of yourself.

It's very important to expose children to "unpositive" things from an early age. We shouldn't shield our kids from everything. They need to know that people who are depressed, have anxiety, people with mental illnesses, people with disabilities are NOT bad. They exist and they deserve love and attention. Only showing the "positive" parts of the world and leaving out the bitterness, the unhappy endings, will only lead to ill-informed kids and disappointment.

This is a gorgeous animation ,and everything is designed in pleasant colors and the animation itself is not bad, nothing jumps everything is clear,and flati is very cute even without long hair)

Unsure if I commented this or not, and if I did, sorry. I remember watching this a little while after it came out, and it ultimately being the reason I wanted to cut my own hair. So, I asked my mom not long after, and now I live with short hair. The first time I cut it on my own accord, I kept putting this on repeat as I did it. It felt so nice and relieving. Like I actually had control over something in my chaotic life for once. After I finished, I was so happy and excited to show everyone I could. Cutting my hair was scary at first, but once I did it, I don't think I want to go back to long hair. At least not in this point in time. Thank you creator. For giving me the aspiration and confidence to pull through with that decision. Even if it wasn't your intent.

I don't know why I'm writing this, but When I was younger, I was a huge fan of MLP, and my favorite character was always Fluttershy I guess I kinda identified with her because i was (and still am) very shy And, this video kinda made me reflect, because i used to have long hair, and I was also having problems with social anxiety and low self-esteem But through last year's end I decided to cut it off, and after that I felt much better with myself even though I'm still dealing with these things Thing is, somehow I saw myself in this video. Seeing character I identify with dealing with the same things I did made me remind of myself And in the end when she showed herself with short hair, it was almost like I was looking at a mirror Anyway, probably no one will see or read this but I really felt like writing it. Also, your art is amazing! ♡

Imo the long hair makes her seem more like her namesake, since you can hide behind a wall of long hair. Short hair is the opposite, since there’s nothing to hide behind. It shows that she’s more open and confident now and ready to come out of her shell, starting with a haircut.

Here’s my story I was sexually abused by another girl in seventh grade I had bangs and long hair to my back maybe not that long anyways I became very depressed and I ended up having no friends because she stole them. So I left that school and I was diagnosed with leukemia (ALL) blood cancer at 13 I lost all my hair and I had lots of wigs now I’m rocking that pixie haircut and it made me me so confident and happy with myself.

She was cool whatever style but I am glad she was happy with the cut🥲😭😭😭🤩😍🤩.

About a few years back I always had some troubles with my low self esteem, depression and social anxiety. In all consideration I wanted to cut my hair but I never had the guts to do it myself however my birth mother came to see me one day but she seemed a bit angry (for personal relationship reasons). My mother and I were alone in the living room and she started to pick on little things about me, I got a bit annoyed about it and we got into an arguement. Our arguement got really bad to the point where I started to get physically abused and the one thing that crossed the line was pulling/ grabbing my hair. I bursted out and escaped to my room which she tried to get in to. About a few minutes later she left the house verbally attacking me in the process; and for hours I was crying and sobbing to myself. I looked at myself in the mirror just looking at my hair and just.. feeling it, and at that moment I hated it... I hated my hair because my mother touched it. Several minutes later I decided to cut all off in a short bob. I tried to hide it as long as I could by tying it back but with in 2 weeks my family found out and wondered why. But noticing when I took my sadness and anger out on my hair I felt instantly that a tonne of weight was lifted from my shoulders, I never grew out my hair anymore ever since that day and I have kept it as short as possible. Every time my hair grew past my shoulders I got really anxious about it, so I would cut it again and again. I always thought that my hair kept a lot of secrets and when I cut it off it felt like all those secrets disappeared, the ones I didn’t need to worry about any longer. And you’re right, I also felt more attractive as well as putting myself out there instead of hiding myself in my own lonely and anxious mind. I am very glad that I cut my hair that day, it was probably the best decision I have made to me physically and mentally!
