David Cayton -Thomas. One of the greatest singers in history. Unforgettable.
In 1985 my boyfriend said, "I can't sing. But I want to tell you how I feel." He played this song. We got married...still are.

Heard this song the other day as it played in a restaurant, and it brought back so many memories...I was lucky enough to see David Clayton Thomas with BS&T live in a Dallas concert...never will ever forget it. Man...that was when music was music as compared to the trash that the kids listen to today.

This is one guy that looks much better older than when he was younger. Like fine wine better with age. Yet, his voice is the same. Great....

Why are they not in the rock of fame with a voice like that and the horns the band in general 🤯🤔
Actually, his face showing happiness while singing ... so she made him so very happy!
I always like how David obviously loves performing after all these years. Always a big smile.
Sang this song to my wife at our wedding reception over 11 years ago. What a great song
Davids voice has not changed one bit. What a voice.
Classic Hit, still reverbing throughout our lives! Relevant as the day it was released. Thanks for sharing, posting @Drumcam, @ @BloodSweat&Tears 🔥 Listened 09/15/2023 #BloodSweat&Tears
Is it just me or is his voice and ability to sing just as good or better today as it was back in the 70's ? What's great about watching him sing is I get the impression he gets so much enjoyment doing it that he would do it for free . I have always admired people who get to do what they love doing . Side note , I live in Denver and my neighbor played lead trumpet for him for 9 years . His first name is Peter .
What a great voice. And great band. Such memories. I was like ten when I started hearing them.
how fortunate we are to have these artists in our lifetime----well done David and company. !!
Besides this iconic voice, the instrumentals are phenomenal- I forgot what great music I listened to back in the 70s and 80s- guess I took it all for granted back then :-(

Met David years ago at the Orange County Fair, Ca. After his show. He was so very friendly and accommodating to his fans. I could’ve talked with him for hours. This is a legend.
Simply an outstanding song! Great vocals and horns.
Wow! Wow! Wow! What a voice. I am without words. I want to go back to the 60's and relive this fabulous music. What a talent. They could show the 'artists (?)' of today a thing or two or three or four..... Beautiful. Thank you Blood Sweat & Tears. 💙

Best Horn band in ANY universe! THANK YOU, BS&T!!!!
One of the most dynamic recordings of the day. Al Kooper was a genius. DCT is one of my fav's and the drummer rocks too.
These guys were the BEST!!!! They brought a whole new type of Jazz-rock to us, them and of course.....CHicago! DCT, what a Wonderful vocalist he is.

one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Songs from Chicaco, Earth Wind and Fire and Blood sweat and tears are Jazz/Rock songs that you just don't hear anymore.
Voice still strong even after all these years, this is a singer who knows how to take care of their God-given ability.

One of my earliest musical influences during my early childhood in Hollywood, Oildale, and Bakersfield, CA ♡♡♡♡ Between my musical-genius-horn-arrangement-loving-father, Gary S. Paxton and Blood Sweat & Tears, I too love 'horn bands' ♡♡♡♡♡♡
Un mistakable voice. So beautiful. It never gets old.
This man has such an amazing voice! Never heard of this group til a couple of years ago! So underrated! Give this man his props! One of the most wonderful voices ever my God!!!

Canada can be proud of this band!
HE WAS ONE GREAT SINGER IN THE BAND. HIS VOICE IS STILL RECOGNISED FROM HIS YOUNGER DAYS ONLY MORE MATURE. THEY WERE A GREAT BAND AND SONGS THAT ARE UNIQUE & NEVER FORGOTTEN.
I love this guy singing. He has a fantastic voice. He looks so very happy too, smiling eyes tell he is a surviver.
oh oh oh...how superb...words and music....
Still great after all the years. A good song will stand the test of time.
This is one of those songs I keep going back to. Just classic.
I don't think there will ever be another voice like that again. Great music, all of it!
This is such a beautiful song
amazing voice
I got to see David with BS&T in their heyday, only once, and it was an evening I'll never forget! So much excitement, electricity, etc.......especially when he did his fabulous signature hit as he does it here in this great clip. Those were the days, people! Really Fine Music!!!
his voice still gives me chills.
I just loved David Clayton-Thomas! Such a beautiful strong voice.
Memories....the man of my dreams that was our song we didn't make it 45 years later still brings tears
Over time "THE" voice has gained an even raspier, burnished quality. The arrangement is complicated and sophisticated and performed by superb musicians. The performance shows a love of singing, commanding the stage before an audience. And no one in the last 3 decades can touch the talent and genius in this video.
This is one of my favorite bands ever. More so now that I've recently read some biography details about D C Thomas. Some hard knocks, his life could have gone the wrong way early.
HOLY SHIT THIS IS AMAZING!! I'm a hard Blues-rock Jimi Hendrix/Black Sabbath/Thin Lizzy guy, but I can't get enough of this!!! WHAT A VOICE!!!
I wish I could sing like David Clayton-Thomas. Cheers from Ottawa, Canada🍁
The guy can surely sing :) I love it !!!!
This album was played ritually in my childhood home, thank you baby Blood Sweat and Tears 💕😘😘
DYNAMITE!! This song just, for some reason, popped into my head tonight. I might have been thinking about my wife...and that I was happy! Thank you God for such a great tune!
one of the best R & R voices of ALL time - and bands
Bs&t fused rock ,jazz. Gospil , blues even in there music.. the sound they make are unbelivable . Such talent
It's like a piercing ray of sunlight when I hear this song! Awesome :)
David Clayton Thomas rocks... what a terrific band... one of my favorites... ever!
This song is Awesome I love these Guy's. Me and my Husband Frankie saw 1 guy that was in BS&T @ a store in Marietta, Ga. Frankie died but he knew them well. Beautiful song amazing vocals thanks for posting this video.🥀💝🥀
So glad I found this video. He still has an incredible voice!!
DCT ... the sound of BS&T. Without him the band misses the target. No one has his timbre, pitch, phrasing, timing, everything a music producer aims for!

Simplest lyric sung with enormous soul is what made this song great. And a great brass and rhythm section. :-)
How good is this? Amazing. He is having the best time of anyone in the building.
Absolute classic jazz-rock band I grew up with in the early 70s UK!
I sing this song to my daughter all the time! Love it!
This is such a simple, but sweet, beautiful, heart-felt song.
Great song, great singer, great musicians, great BAND ... A GREAT EXPERIENCE ALTOGETHER for those of us lucky enough to have seen and heard this particular ”edition” of BS&T live back in their heyday on multiple occasions like I was able to do. Wow:-)
Great singer. Wow.
Wow!Absolutely the best in live performance.Where have all the brilliant voices gone of yesteryear?
I love this song. I always get emotional every time I hear it

A great voice, a great man, a great loss, RIP, Jerry LaCroix!
This is probably my favourite song from David and the guys. He has a great voice. Thank you for posting.
Rediscovered this classic recently, and it's my favorite BS&T song. Loved this arrangement, with the guitar riff and horns added before DCT rips into that final chorus.
