It’s actually the 9 new weight classes. These guys are claiming multiple championships in none of the 8 original classes. A lot were developed in the 90s and early 2000s, should count towards history to say a modern boxer did more when they fight even less.

He never wanted the top contenders and is fighting someone else now that has been exposed soon to build himself up again. He didn't dismantle Loma, he didn't make him look average, and most people in that stadium agreed this was Lomas victory.

It is unreal to me that people think Loma is done and the result of this fight is a foregone conclusion. This is a loma that spent a year out of the ring and came back and looked rusty which is to be expected but he has very little tread on his tires for a guy his age and still has a couple years left in the tank at a high level. This fight is not going to be easy for Haney.

I’m not even being a smartass. The clinch is one of Devin Haney’s primary defensive tools, often used to manipulate and control an opponent’s positioning in the ring. Wrestling likewise is the art of manipulating one’s posture and positioning. So practicing the art of grappling is an effective counter to an opponent whose defense when fighting in close range is heavily reliant on using the clinch.

@@12345678901011213 I know you are not, It's actually the basics of boxing. IF you look at the old boxing manuals what we now call a jab used to be more like a head stabilising tool, then all incoming punches would literally be grappled and the bodies moved around and opened up for a punch, especially off the cross guard. It was more like a mixture of win chun and judo. I don't think Devin is that great at the clinch because you are meant to keep working the inside and over the shoulder, he *will* get better though as he goes up the weight divisions. Roy Jones Junior and Ali were two of the best at tying fighters up. Tyson Fury is also very very good at it as was Lennox Lewis. It is a fundamental weapon in the sport.

Been a student of the game since the 70's when boxing was a 15 war between absolute warriors who never ducked ANYBODY. I love Loma. He is one of my favorites all time. Haney...He could be the best ever. His confidence and talent incredible. Even pops got it going on. I'm excited for the fight. Hoping both do their best.

@@MogulMaurice Size doesn't always mean power. It's how the muscle is formed. There's fast twitch and slow twitch. Slow twitch are endurance building. Fast twitch is where your power comes from. Loma is by far the most balanced fighter I've seen. Devin's power has been questioned throughout his career. Haney is just over 50% knock out rate. Loma is sitting at 58% knockout ratio, 9 of which came in title fight KO's. Haney has ZERO title fight KOs.

I'm so glad we are getting this best of best/legacy fights it makes boxing great again. Who do I think will win it's a tough one Haney's last to fights he dominated like Loma would in the past so if Loma is anything like his past it's going to be an amazing fight but I believe Haney is cutting alot of weight and Loma isn't cutting any anybody whos cut weight before knows how much it can drain you at times.

Firstly, he never had the IBF, secondly he said how fast to adapt not how fast to fight, he probably will still come out trying to size up devin, distance, power and different looks to see what he bites on etc.
