    Thank you so very much for this video. I'm just starting my nursing journey and realized i can't hear anyone's BP especially patients that are in their 90's. I'm really considering purchasing the Core amplifier stethoscope. Btw you're very funny, you made me laugh while you were talking to your mannequin and i especially enjoyed the meditation. I woke myself up 3 times from snoring during the mediation 😂 I've been working too much i guess. Thanks again 🙂

    HI DD, thank you for your videos! I just started an accelerated BSN program and I have moderate sensorineural hearing loss. I am having a really hard time with the Littmann Core/iPhone/Oticon hearing aids because somewhere along the way the Bluetooth signal is getting lost and going in and out. I have reached out to the university’s audiologist and accessibility services team and we are trying to come up with another option. My issue is that this is taking up the time I need for actually learning the material, practical application and techniques. I really wish these companies would make more design options such as directly plugging in to headphones to go over my hearing aids instead of ONLY having the traditional earpieces. Especially since technology is not always reliable and you do one software update and ruin your life lol. I am due for new hearing aids soon so I am hoping my next pair work better with it. Any suggestions for hearing aids that work better with the Core?

    Hi Kris, that is quite unfortunate and frustrating to say the least. I am super excited that you reached out to the audiologist because they need to be educated and learn more about accessibility for nursing students, so well done. I am surprised to learn that the University has its own audiologist, very cool. I don't know if you have the budget to try another stethoscope; the Thinklabs One. It connects directly by audio cable to a streamer that streams to your hearing aids through T-Coil. I've used Thinklabs for many years before Bluetooth hearing aids came out and had no issues. I especially love that it amplifies 100x. But you need the T-coil turn on and a streamer...there are a few videos on my channel if you consider it and want to learn more. Please keep us posted. :)

    Will these be helpful for hearing korotkoff sounds during an exercise stress test?

    I noticed that the Bluetooth link causes a delay of a second, or sometimes even more. This means you need to deflate a bit slower than usual, else you would read a bit lower than actual pressure. Have you found this to be the case?

    Hi, DD. I really enjoyed this video! I do have a question, though. I'm scheduled for my CNA exam tomorrow (BP is one of the skills), and this device is new territory for me. The nurse evaluator would not be able to do what she usually does: listen on another stethoscope while I perform the skill. I must be within a few points of her reading or fail the skill. One failure means failure for the entire exam, and I only have two chances left without having to repeat the whole CNA program. I do not have the time or money to do that. We are NOT allowed to use the app for the BP results. Do you have any videos that show you determining the systole and diastole numbers while using the Littman Digital CORE Stethoscope? Thank you so much for any help, and I will continue to follow you on Healthy Hearing Loss. You are kind and witty, and you are everything I want to be as (hopefully) a future RN.

    Hi @bridgidmccalister4476, I am sorry for my delayed response. I hope all went well with your exam. There are no visual data for systolic or diastole on the Littmann CORE Stethoscope and it doesn't show on the newest version, Eko CORE 500, either but with technology advancing as fast as it does, I have a feeling someone will create it in the future. Right now, BPs can only be heard with these stethoscopes. I recommend talking with the school's disability/accessibility department to discuss accommodations. Perhaps they would allow a automatic blood pressure machine. You are protected on the American Disability Act.

    This is helpful because I have Right Sensorineural hearing loss and I am an EMT. I also have the Littmann CORE Digital Stethoscope and I'm starting to learn how to use it in my EMS care. I am wondering how I can take full advantage of the Littmann CORE Digital Stethoscope while doing a blood pressure.

    Hi Nicky, when I started as an EMT I had an analog stethoscope and had to take out my hearing aids to use it. If I could go back in time, I would have told myself to slow down and be patient. It took me longer to learn to hear sounds than people with normal hearing. I would take full advantage of the volume control on both the CORE and your cell phone (but no so high it hurts your eardrum).

    Is there a setting that you should have it on when taking BP wide/card/pulm ???

    Hello MelindaBrimer; great question! Before I connect to the CORE I ensure that the audio settings are set: Play from Headphones and Volume Boost are both toggled on (defaults once selected). As far as the Audio Filter goes to take blood pressures: I generally use cardiac because it seems to me that it reduces background noise. The wide option picks up more background noise for me anyway.

    I'm going to try to use my ear buds that have blue tooth. When I try to use my amplifier with the tubing, I get a lot of background noise, and the movement of my hand, and then I can't hear the systolic or diastolic sounds. Can you give me any advise?

  • @healthyhearingloss9953

    @healthyhearingloss9953

    Hi Margaret Pelow. If you are using the CORE I would recommend detaching the tubing and using the CORE body alone. This will reduce the sounds coming from the tubing itself. I would also recommend that the arm be resting on a table, push the clothing away from the site of auscultation, and developing a comfortable and firm holding position of the CORE to reduce movements. I hope that helps.

    Hi Ninqi, I have not taken a manual BP with the DUO so unfortunately I can't any experience. I generally use the CORE or Thinklabs to obtain a manual BP. I recommend emailing eko directly to see if they know of anyone using it to take BPs. Keep us posted on what you find out!

    How do I set up the app to do the blood pressure

  • @healthyhearingloss9953

    @healthyhearingloss9953

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Jose, the app doesn't allow you to record the blood pressure. All you can do, at this time, in regards to the blood pressure is listen. Did that answer your question?

    Nowadays traditional blood pressure meter already was replaced by electronic blood pressure. Many EMT do not use traditional Bp for waste time.
