My mum is 73 and in a nursing home with dementia. Debbie is 4 years older and rocking out like someone half her age and people were complaining her voice isn't strong enough anymore. Good God, do people know what it actually is to be 77 years old? She is a phenomenon.

In 1978 when Blondie's Parallel Lines hit the charts Glastonbury had been going for eight years and a 78 year old would have been born in the Victorian era. No one in 1978 could have anticipated a person of this age still rocking it in style at Glastonbury. My mind does summersaults thinking about it. Rock on Debbie

Life before ww2 was hard and short because we didn't knew much about healthcare and medicine and foods, so people who were 50+ were almost seniors and 60+ people were worn out old people who looked like 80+. And that all changed after the war because everything got better and better and there are alot of rules on the job site, so no more slave labour and 12 hour day jobs ,better food, better healthcare etc etc, so every generation is looking younger and stay more fit than the previous generations. And the ones who are rich and can affort better foods and not having to work and have way more time to take care of themselves live longer than poor people who don't have a dime to scratch their but with and live a hard life. That's why i never get up when a clock tells me to, but get out of bed when my body says that i had enough sleep, and that is how also nature works, because animals don't have clocks and get up when they feel it's time. I have seen men who worked 80 hours a week and looked like 65 when they were still 40, so working hard is not good for you, and even some sports are not good for you like bicycle races, because those guys get a large heart and die from heart attacks in their sleep. And not to mention all those sports that causes knees to get shot and other shit that wears you out way faster. So when you work normal and make alot of money and have alot of free time, you will live longer than a dead beat.

I think it’s particularly older women people don’t want to see. No one tells Bruce Springsteen or Billy Idol to bugger off. It’s always woman who get criticized because unfortunately our society still thinks that our lives end at 30 and we should hide ourselves after that, no one wants to see wrinkles and thinning hair. It’s ridiculous. This obsession with looking young.

I thought I was just going to watch them for a few minutes and then go to see Miami Horror, but I ended up staying until the end of the concert. Debbie is really very charming and she still has a lot of attitude, in the end people asked them not to leave and to continue playing more. Blondie is a good time at any festival or concert.

I think she sounds amazing. If anyone is expecting her to sing this song like she did when she recorded it they are absolutely ignorant. She was 32 years old when she recorded this song.... she is damn near 80 now. They're playing in a different key and she's singing the melody in a way that makes sense for the song and makes sense for her voice. She still sounds fantastic and even more fantastic on the new material they have from there more recent albums❤
