They got their own lives, families and responsibilities. But when they help each other out in a training camp u can see they really enjoy escaping the monotonous grind of everyday life and pushing for a common goal while having fun. Some fighters hate the grind of training camp. Must be a real pleasure to enjoy the journey and process, I’d imagine it can only help with the night of the fight.

If all 28 year-old peaking Usman could do --- 7 years ago, when he was still fast and athletic, without any hand or knee injuries and surgeries, with elite wrestling --- was by wrestling Leon to the mat & blanketing over him (Leon than had no serious TDD, BJJ, or wrestling: all of which are approaching elite levels, today), you think a slowing down, exhausted (powerful but slowing down).... an injured 35 year-old with massive mileage and surgeries on both hands and knees... is gonna give a peaking 30 year-old 6'2" Leon no chance, today? What kind of logic or common sense is that? You realized when they first fought, age & lack of experience were liabilities for Leon, right. You also realize today AGE is becoming a fast enemy of Usman, right? He's around 35. Soon, he'd be 37, 38, etc. Guys like Leon, Shavkat, Khamzat et al. who are now between 27 and 30 are taking over. Again, Usman still is very powerful and elite; and if you stand there going toe to toe with him --- like Colby, Masvidal, Burns, Khamzat, Luque et al (that's the approach all these guys use in their MMA) --- probability says Usman likely will come out on top every time: he's naturally bigger & taller than most guys (except Khamzat and Leon). So, as an elite wrestler, he could swing as hard as he wants and doesn't have to worry about being taken down. Well, at 6'2" Leon doesn't stand there and trade blows. He moves around, doing largely hit and run, using moderate 90% power punches. But 90% power punches from a natural 200 pound elite striker, who also is 6'2" --- and the fastest guy at 170 --- isn't something Usman or you or me should giggle at: look at all of Leon's opponents since he last lost to Usman back in 2015: all of them, including Nate, who landed literally ONE hard punch on Leon on the 25th minute, when Leon no longer paid attention, as blood was literally squirting from both sides of Nate's face. In 25 minutes, those 90% punches and kicks from Leon add up. He doesn't have to go seeking these "thrilling" one-punch KO BS dumb fighters do. Anyway, you will see the DIFFERENCE in speed and agility, when they started fighting for a second time. The peaking, younger, uninjured 30 year-old 6'2" Leon will make the great but slowing down champ look slow and desperate; as such, he will throw mighty bombs... but chances of a slowing down older Usman catching Leon clean... rather low... Leon will pepper him with moderate strikers all night and the great champ, at the end, would look terrible, with blood and bruises and cuts all over, like all of Leon's opponents since 2015...

I wonder when Darren is going to fight next 🤔
