These ISA videos are great for worried customers with lots of questions. The videos are slow paced, comfortable, and professional.

Hey I know this is an older video, but I have recently seen a video of a guy doing this technique which I’m sure he has learned from you all. Thank you for your amazing knowledge of our beautiful industry.

Very nice. Sometimes I watch these videos and think to myself "why didn't I think of that".

That's good, Rip. Except, when we've done it, we've had a GRCS or Hobbs as the lowering line friction, which allows for rapid slack removal during load free fall, which can reduce the amount the load falls by a considerable percentage, which also limits the peak loads. As well, I sometimes use full static HWMPE rope for the speed line, which totally reduces line stretch to near zero

Hello, this is an awesome video and thank you for sharing your knowledge with all of us. Could you tell me or teach me, maybe even a training video on how you attached your lowering rope to the section of tree that you just removed and lowered to the ground? Thank you, Carlos Martinez

That part of the rigging is called negative blocking. He passes the rope through the block and places a marlan or half hitch above the face. Then he ties a running bowline above the half hitch. The half hitch keeps the loop of the bowline from opening during the fall. Hope that helped. Go to animatedknots.com to learn the knots. :)
