Blocked Drain - Unblocking Overgrown Compacted Roots in Manhole with Sewage Gush
Ойын-сауық
In this video, our local drain specialists Jem and Warren are back tackling a giant root blocking the manhole outlet, no wonder the drain was blocked! The roots have completely overtaken the manhole leaving no space for the drain to run. Once removed, it is clear to us why the drain was blocked.
Also, we get hit by a freak snowstorm, when only a few days ago we were sunbathing? The great British weather 😂

This is my first time seeing roots growing in a manhole but it does make sense, it’s outside, a source of water, and not usually visited or touched. Thanks so much for sharing! Job well done 🙌🏽

Must get that attachment for my nilfisk pressure washer.
Now that's a root!! As far as root problems go this might be one of the better ones right? If all the roots grow in through the manhole they could probably get away with opening the manhole and picking out roots a couple times a year?

When you tapped on the pvc pipe and said "that's his kitchen" what is that drain from the kitchen for? Is it the kitchen sink?
I'm always amazed by people who don't keep their properties groomed with the vegetation, that they are surpised by insects, plugging, moisture damage, etc.

Is there any way to prevent something like this? Other than cutting down all the trees on your property.

Do you do anything to where the roots gain entrance to the pit. I know you cut out as much as you could, but the roots are always seeking water. And they will grow back in a fairly short time.
Nice day for it :)
